good golf club, but bad cottage living conditions. All the facilities are very outdated, and the flooring and railing on the balcony are rotting, posing a safety hazard. Additionally, the staff forgot to deliver water to the room for two consecutive days. This kind of mistake is something I have experienced for the first time at an onsen hotel in Japan.

Inside the room there are insects; the carpet causes allergy to my son. If you want to stay in this resort better to have your own car because there is no public transportation to travel to groceries or other restaurants. The scenery is beautiful.

We booked here through RCI quite a few months ago. Stayed three nights in one of the log cabin style cottages number 557. Like one big room with two seperate bedroom areas each with two comfortable beds so could sleep four. No kitchen but we knew that when we booked, a small bathroom with bath , shower and toilet, there was also another toilet and two other sinks/ wash areas. There was a wardrobe and dressing table with drawers for clothes. The table and chairs were Japanese style so right down at ground level nearly so I could not use them . We were picked up at the local station by the resort courtesy bus and after booking in at the Hotel Chateau taken to our cottage, it was very hot and we needed to open a couple of windows as the air was a bit stale smelling. We then turned on the two split system air conditioners to get the place cool, it took awhile as they were not very powerful units We had them on the whole time we were in the cottage which was evening time. Our cottage looked out onto one of the golf courses here at the resort, I think there are three, it is a huge resort. The courtesy bus's were at our disposal all the time, just ring reception and the bus would be at the cottage in five minutes, the drivers were terrific as were the staff at reception.They took us to the station each morning to catch a train to places we wanted to visit and were waiting for us when we returned. Each evening we used the hot spring baths at the Hotel Chateau, they were terrific You can have dinner there if you wish and breakfast is at the Golf Club . We had it one morning, smorgasbord or as it is known in Japan Viking style, plenty of choice, very nice. The resort is very remote set in a beautiful mountain area, there are no shops around so keep that in mind, bring a few goodies with you. We enjoyed our time there, if you are a golfer you will love it

We booked for 7 nights at this resort. Is about 2-2.5 hours drive from Kansai. Cottage built in the middle of a Golf course. Unit size is recoasonably spacious for 2-4 persons. You need a car to stay here. It is a good location to explore smaller towns like Iga, Tsu, Matsusaka Nabari within 30-40 minutes drive and Nara 1-1.5 hours drive. Would need to stay 7 nights to reaaly explore these towns at leisure which are rather interesting. Can try the BBQ tofu in Iga and one of the top 3 best japanese matsusaka beef in Matsusaka SPA;Onsen is up at the main building at the hilltop. You can call for shuttle bus service to fetch and return to cottage. There is daily changing of towels and toiletries replacement to the unit but no room cleaning unless on request for a fee. The only negative is there is no Wifi in the unit and only one restaurant service at the cottage area. Nearest supermarket, Aeon Max valu, about 15 minutes drive from the resort. Would be good to have at partial kitchen in the unit since getting food is rather inconvenient in this area.
