"We booked this hotel as a stop over before it was CT hotels and were very disappointed. There is no doubt that it is a classic building and could be a fab place to stay but at the moment it needs work. We saw no other guests during our stay, the snack we were offered was deep fried frozen chicken samosas etc. And the bar did not have many of the items on the menu. There was a problem with the hot water that was eventually fixed. The staff did what they could but the hotel needs to get back on its feet. As tourists we were advised not to venture outside unescorted as not safe. Not an area we would revisit."

"We had a 1 night stay between flights. Room was great - lots of space & a lovely bathroom. Unfortunately there is so much work going on at the hotel it was impossible to get away from the noise. We had to use the restaurant on the farm for dinner & breakfast. It was an easy walk but the buffet at both meals did not provide much choice. Once the work is completed I’m sure it will be a great hotel but not at present."

"The area around the hotel was great, we felt safe, there was a small mall 1 minute walk away as well as several good restaurants. There was a grocery store and pharmacy in the mall. They had a shuttle the would take you to and pick you up from the large mall 10 minutes away. The hotel and staff made for a wonderful experience. You can uber into Johannesburg for $27 same with the airport. Uber was very dependable."

"The hotel is a little old and offers spacious rooms with good bathrooms. The proximity to the neighboring building can be a little noisy - better to take a room on the upper floors ;-). Very friendly staff, very clean, the evening meal buffet wasn't really our thing in terms of taste. There's nothing you can do about that. The canned fruit we found at breakfast was sobering - which in our opinion is completely unacceptable in such a fruit-rich country! It's OK for one night and the government seat is a stone's throw away."

Honestly this lodge is breathtakingly beautiful and so well cared for by friendly staff and security. I had to prep for a show and the chef prepared all my food to specifics and they even let me practise my intro walk in their venue. This is one place who I could ask for all the help I needed to prep and they assisted with the utmost friendliness. We loved our stay and wished we could stay longer. An absolute recommendation to families with kids as they have a secured and well equipped play area. The restaurants food was amazing and our room just perfect. Thank you for making this a memorable stay and our go-to place for future trips to Pta."
