Hampton Inn & Suites Tahoe-Truckee

Amazing Amazing service . Thank you Adan, Katie, Erika and the lovely Ethiopia for one of the most amazing services at a Hampton inn I ever had. Hotel needs renovating...very weathered but its well located . Short drive to Kings beach and Donner Lake. The town of Truckee is worth a visit ...specially the Cornerstone Bakery & the dark horse coffee shop. Gas in Lake Tahoe is like $6 a gallon so be prepared .

The front desk staff were pleasant. The room service was top-notch. The cleaning staff were attentive and the room was clean. The pool and area were clean. The concierge desk helped us with excellent sites to see and activities we could all enjoy.

We enjoyed two stays of 2 days each (split days of the week) at the Hampton Inn Truckee in June. We were particularity impressed with Adon at the Front Desk who made sure every request/detail was addressed. He is an excellent ambassador for this Hilton property!! He also was patient in helping with directions to the Hampton Inn when our cell phone unexpectedly died about a mile away from our destination. Adonn understands hospitality at its core!! he was helpful thorugh our entire two stays!!

I have stayed at dozens of Hampton Inn's over the years as they normally have very consistent and dependable quality and ammenities. Unfortunately, this one came in far below expectations which was double disappointing given this was also one of the most expensive Hampton Inn's I have ever stayed at...at well over $350! The room's carpet desperately needed to be replaced and the room smelled damp and musty - which was saying something since we were in hot and dry Lake Tahoe in the summer. I think the only time I have ever paid for parking at a Hampton Inn was when they were located in an inner-city location (think high-rise) and had to utilize garage parking. This Hampton Inn had a typical 3 story distributed layout with lots of parking all around the building. Despite the high room price and plentiful parking, this hotel felt the need to charge an additional $15 per night for parking. This felt like a pure money grab. These dissapointments were particularly jarring as we had just come from the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe, 30min away, and had an amazing experience with great ammenties. rooms and services FOR LESS than this Hampton Inn charged!!! There are other quality hotel chains in the Truckee, Lake Tahoe area - I recommend you choose one of them. This hotel is not worthy of the Hampton Inn brand...

My wife and I enjoyed our four night stay at this Hampton. Our room was comfortable, clean, and had all the desired amenities. The staff were engaging, and the breakfast met the normal Hampton fare. The hotel is centrally located, permitting us to visit within driving distance South Tahoe, Carson City, Donner museum, Truckee, and Reno. We made use of the laundry facilities and got efficient help from the manager when our coins got jammed. Rugs throughout the hotel aren't in the best condition, as was our room's easy chair. Humorously - we thought being in Truckee we'd get a good view of the woods from our room: we got it in another form - a lumber yard!

The front desk staff was friendly, efficient check-ins and check-outs. The room décor was a bit dated, but well-maintained and clean, nothing dusty. Though there was a stain on a stool. Room has microwave and minifridge, fast Wi-Fi and good water pressure. Covered drop-off area with ample luggage carts for gear transport. The pool was closed, but jacuzzi was open and towels are available from front desk. The breakfast maintains the Hampton Inn standard..

I stayed one night at that hotel this week and paid $370. However, I was quite disappointed with my experience. Despite the appealing exterior, the interior is extremely dated. The photos of the hotel are misleading as they have been heavily photoshopped. Everything, from the carpet to the ceiling, is old and worn. Even in what was called a "suite" by the manager, the room was subpar. The bathroom tiles were repaired with silicone, indicating a lack of proper maintenance. As someone who travels frequently, I can confidently say that this was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. For the price paid, there are much better options available in the area. Consider this a warning to others seeking accommodation in the area.

My recent stay at Hampton Truckee was simply magical. It felt like a winter wonderland, the hotel was beautifully nestled in snow all weekend. We felt cozy drinking hot cocoa in the lobby by the fireplace, watching the storm fall outside! The staff made sure we were comfortable and they were quick to clear the sidewalks in the morning. We loved the complimentary breakfast! And super cute, someone built a snowman near the front entrance! Overall, our stay was outstanding. Can't go wrong staying in Truckee! Attentive service and delicious breakfast made for an unforgettable stay. We will be back, thanks Hampton team!

The overall experience at this Hampton ranked with some of the best Hampton Inns especially when it came to the staff, common areas, location, and breakfast. HOWEVER… the rooms and floors are in desperate need of a makeover. This hotel is WAY overpriced for the quality of room provided. Given the amount of people in the hotel on the weekend of our stay and the price charged for the room, more like-kind hotels are needed in this area.
