Days Inn by Wyndham Topeka

Honestly, I booked my room for just one night based on price. I was not expecting much due to other reviews. I am a widower and travel solo these days so decided to take a chance. I was checked into my room by the night manager, a wonderful lady who greeted me with a smile. She put me into a ground floor room next to the gorgeous indoor pool. The check-in was handled professionally and already, I could see the reviews I had read were not entirely accurate. I walked into my room and found it clean as a whistle. My queen size bed was comfy too, with crisp sheets and comforter. The bathroom was clean and shiny as well. I knew then this was not a run down inn, but a place that had been refreshed over its 45 year history and they were trying to keep it nice. I slept well and the room met all of my needs nicely. I checked out in morning about 10:30 am after enjoying several cups of their good coffee in the lobby. I met the day manager who also greeted me with a smile. She was very nice and I said I would return in October for 4 nights in Topeka. Give the place a try folks. The new owners are trying to impress.

The night front desk lady is always so nice and helpful.the room I reserved was taken so I got an upgrade at no extra cost..

Would never stay here again. Nothing like it looks online, the rooms are disgusting. The pool smells so badly of mildew I’m not even sure if id be able to swim

Place is a $h!t hole! Bathroom had dirt/grass all over the floor, front panel of the vanity was rotted and pulled away, hole in the all with cables coming out, stained chair, 3 pillows for a king bed, and plastic on box springs had dirt on it! No lamp shade on lamp, mold on walls along with who knows what else it was.Place stunk the minute we walked in and did NOT feel safe at all! RUN don’t walk from this place

Went to check in at 7pm and the room still wasnt ready. Asked for a different room, didnt get one. So we had to wait. Didnt offer a discount or anything. Very unhappy with the experience. Lovby stinks terribly, havent even been to the room yet

This is what we're talking about. Being misled. Now lied to. We were willing to look over the dirty room as the house keeping couple said they were busy however they also said it had already been cleaned but would be happy to clean it again. The bed was perfectly made and the trash was empty. New towels etc. However the in opening the fridge and finding open left over food, a dirty toilet and a nasty microwave....There was a lot of "miscommunication" if you'd like to call it that. But again we're down to out right lies. The manager we were promised the moment we got there never showed. I've never complained anywhere in my entire life. I'm upset that I have to now. Nothing about this Days Inn was handicap accessible. The bathroom door had to be kicked open to get it passed the toilet and you cannot shut the door unless you get in and stand in the bathtub. I will say that the house cleaning couple that live on sight were very helpful and friendly the first couple of hours we got there. Then all the promises of getting to talk to the manager. Getting towels that weren't crusty sh** stains that came with excuses about how their detergent doesn't work well anymore.... No hot tub, no continental breakfast, no handicap accessible anything except parking....lied to misled and fed up. I just want my money like I've wanted since minute one of stepping into that room.
