The room is clean this time. It was a beautiful room. It was spacious and it was good to have a twin. However, when I made the reservation, it was a pity that I could not request a non-smoking room because all the rooms were "partially non-smoking" or smoking on the reservation site. As a result, I was able to call the hotel directly and change to a non-smoking room, which was good, but I felt that they wanted more completely non-smoking rooms. I feel a sense of unfairness when I think that I could have used a smoking room at a cheaper price. I am very happy with the buffet breakfast. Correspondence of Staff was kind, too.

Large modern hotel within walking distance of the station and town centre. Private car park ¥500 per night. Rooms are spacious and comfortable with good amenities. Nice yukatas provided to go to the hotel’s onsen-style bath area which was really nice. Buffet breakfast was included in the rate. Easy to reserve in *********** as the hotel’s own website was a bit difficult. This is probably the best quality hotel in Tono and is reasonably priced given the current weak yen though maybe a bit expensive by Japanese standards. Overall very good and I would stay again next time.

One of the reviews mentioned hot springs, but the large public bath here is not a "hot spring". However, you can relax in the bath and soothe your tired body after a long day of travel. The bathroom and toilet area of the room seems to have been renovated once, and they are clean. The age of the room is evident on the entrance door, and the hinges in my room were broken, making the door difficult to close. It is within walking distance of the station, so it is a good base for sightseeing in Tono.

The hotel is located in the Tono city area at the foot of the Nabeshima Castle ruins, close to the Tono Monogatari no Yakata and the city museum, making it convenient for sightseeing. Another attraction of this hotel is the storytelling evening. It is a rare experience to listen to a storyteller's live folk tales in Tono, the home of folk tales, while sitting around the hearth. The tales are told in the local dialect, beginning with "mugasu atazumona," and since I couldn't hear the whole story, I concentrated and listened, and was drawn into the world of the Tono tales. On this day, I enjoyed three stories that ended with "dondohare." For breakfast, I had a buffet-style meal at the Japanese restaurant Ginkgo, and there was a wide selection of dishes, and I felt that the quality of each dish was high. I was very happy to choose breakfast included. Please use it when you visit Tono.

We stayed for 4 nights on a tour to stay in Tono for a long time. The room was a spacious twin room on the upper floor, and the interior was new and comfortable. There was a hotel-made pound cake and a present for newcomers on the desk. The cake made with local Kamihei Sake Brewery red yeast was very delicious with a faint scent of alcohol. The bathroom was also new and clean, but I didn't use it because there is a large public bath on the 3rd floor. We could see Nanbu Shrine and the ruins of Nabekura Castle from our room. On the other side across the corridor, you can see the town of Tono. Breakfast was buffet style at a restaurant called "Ichou" on the first floor. You can eat freshly made tofu from nearby tofu shops, and there are many local dishes. Iwaizumi's rich yogurt is also a nice dessert. For dinner, we had a kaiseki meal at the banquet hall on the second floor, which was also delicious with Tono's main dishes. During my stay, two staff members at the hotel treated me like a concierge, which was very helpful. This hotel has the same series as Tono Monogatari no Yakata and Tono Castle Town Museum, so I was able to see the museum on the last day. It was a little troublesome system that you can not buy tickets at this museum alone. The story of the storytelling department held every night was also good. Although it is a little far from Tono Station, it is a recommended hotel to stay in Tono.
