We arrived a little early so had to wait around 15 minutes for the room to be ready, not exactly long, but worth the wait. I had booked a standard room, I am not sure if we received an upgrade, nothing was mentioned but the room was fabulous. 223. Large lobby area with double wardrobes, extra bedding, slippers, bath robes and a safe. Huge bathroom with full bath and shower, wc, bidet, large vanity sink and a separate shower cubical. Nice toiletries too. The bedroom was fairly large, huge comfortable bed, coffee table, lounge chair and a further desk chair. Coffee Machine and TV. Reception can supply a kettle. The huge balcony overlooked the river and pool and was in sun most of the day. I actually said wow, I wasn't expecting this. The AC was excellent too. We were very happy with the room. The pool area got busy in the afternoons, but plenty of sunbeds for all. Pool towels available from reception. The lobby and bar area is lovely, very relaxing and the bar service was excellent. We enjoyed dinner in the restaurant on the first night and it was super good, also great service. The breakfast buffet was equally good with a wide selection of fruit, cereals, pastries and hot food. Drinks via a machine including the hot water. Lots of various teas available. We booked direct with the hotel so parking was included. It was a short walk to the old part of town and not much further over the river. Tomar is a fabulous historic town to visit, easy to walk around, relatively flat. The Convento do Christo is up a very steep hill, we drove. I highly recommend Hotel Dos Templarios and would certainly stay again.
