Everything is okay except dust that let me sneezed. Should clean deeply. Otherwise big problem for some who has dust allergies.

I stayed at this hostel for the second time (in 2025 and 2023), and it seemed much more social this time. The breakfast has improved significantly and now offers more choices, although there still aren't enough tables and chairs. The bathrooms and showers are good, and the showers provide shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel! However, the plugs by the beds only have one USB port, which is a bit inconvenient. We ordered takeout from Domino's down the street and intended to eat in the communal area, but by 10 PM on Saturday night, it was crowded with people drinking, leaving no room for us to eat. That was a bit disappointing. But overall, it's a great hostel! I would recommend it and would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for 9 nights and it was overall a pleasant experience for a solo traveller. Capsule was very clean, cosy and quite roomy as there is an extra space beside (shelf & clothing bar) the mattress. Bedding is clean and comfortable! I especially like the capsule’s window cutout and curtain so that I can draw it accordingly to allow ventilation/ the aircon in. I could leave my luggage outside my capsule in the room so that was very convenient to reach for my things. Shower and toilet facilities are acceptably clean, except for the floor & vanity sink area where alot of ladies dont clean up their loose hair/ makeup powder after use. Unplan Shinjuku is known to be a social hostel, and alittle too social. I stayed in a capsule above the front porch & everynight I have to deal with loud conversational noises from downstairs - I had noise cancelling earphones so I used that to sleep. The common kitchen area has everything a traveller needs - a fridge, freezer, water dispenser, microwave, toaster etc.. The walk from Unplan to the nearest station is about 10mins to Shinjuku 3-chome (Shinjuku line) metro station, Fukutoshin & Maronouchi line are slightly further & JR line is about 20mins walk. Kindly note that Unplan is located on a slope so there is a small gradient to climb.

You have to pay for towel, slippers, and other amenities, but they provide free earplugs. Convenient location, but someone was snoring loudly in my room

Just like how the others describe: socializing environment like an university dorm Transportation:15 mins walking to Shinjuku JR station, living environment: hygient Breakfast: fair enough for this pricing Drawback: 1) can only check in after 4:00pm, which is relatively late compared to the other hotel/hostel policy 2) luggage storgae not 7*24 . Can only take before 10:00pm Would still recommend if you like to socialize with toursits from around the globe

I was in a room with 18 capsules. At least my bed is by the door and is number 18. Since the capsules are stacked like bunk beds. the room is quite small. I think the room lacks ventilation. It is quite soffucating at night. For half the time it stung like wet socks. The people around me were coughing all the time. I also got sick at the end of my stay. I was there for 4 nights. Otherwise the hostel is clean, staffs are friendly. 10 mins walk to the subway or attractions in the area.

Great location with convenience store across the street, located in quiet neighbourhood and helpful staff. But do take note some of the staff are not that good in English so it takes a bit of time to communicate. Other than this everything is fine

A great place to stay. In a quiet area of Shinjuku - famous for its bars and nightlife - this hostel was clean and a 10min walk from two subway stations, as well as a 10min walk to the main area of Shinjuku. The dorm rooms have many beds but the dorms were quiet and people were respectful of the house rules. The bathrooms were plenty to share amongst the people staying on the floor. I never had to wait for a shower or bathroom - despite the floor being completely sold out the week I stayed. Staff were friendly and helpful. A basic kitchen is available - rice cooker, toaster ovens, and basic plates etc available, as well as fridge space. The hostel is social enough and plenty of people went out in groups they met each day. The Whatsapp group is pretty active - if you are travelling solo and looking for people to hang out with, I recommend joining the chat. Would definitely stay again.

It was really convenient, being 1-2 stops away from Shinjuku. The check-in process was easy and close to many cafes, eateries and konbinis. Would book again if solo-travelling

I loved the beds! I stayed in the shared women's dormitory and the beds are much larger than they appear in pictures,with enough space to accommodate a lot of stuff. They provide great privacy for when you need to get away,considering it might be hard to get work done in the common room as this is one of the more "social" hostels. Movie nights,games nights, and many more activities organized during my stay. Great for solo travelers wishing to socialize. I also saw some families staying. Overall, a great experience. I can't wait for my next visit!
