Stayed here overnight on a late booking to visit some friends at short notice. The location is just off the A140 about 1/2 an hour from Norwich, just before the village of Long Stratton and the pub itself is set back from the road with a reasonable sized car park and an overflow just across the access road. Check in was easy, and I went to unwind in my room before heading to the bar. The room was in character with the age of the venue with exposed beams and spacious enough for my needs with tea and coffee, water in a small fridge and a wardrobe and drawers for storage. Bathroom had a bath/ shower which worked fine with fresh clean towels provided. Bed was comfy- I did have some noise from the road but as I had the window open, this was to be expected. I ate in the bar with my friends, having the game pie for main with the cheeseboard for dessert. Food was good with decent sized portions and breakfast was included in my very reasonable room rate and again was good- I went for full English. All the staff I met were friendly and helpful so I’m not sure about some of the negative reviews about this place as my experience was very good overall and I am happy to both recommend and will return if I’m back in the area in the future.

Our family room was comfortable and quirky. The staff were very friendly and we all enjoyed our breakfast. A great place to stay when travelling through Norfolk.

Old coaching inn Lovely old coaching inn. We had a large room. The bed was a four poster. The mattress was extremely soft. Too soft for me. It felt a bit like a water bed. We only ate breakfast at the Ram. The food was very nice but service a bit slow. It's a lovely place. Full of character and history.

Highly disappointed Our recent stay at the Ram was regrettable, we felt compelled to share our experience due to the lack of professionalism and care shown during our visit, Reception closed at 9:30pm, check in was via key safe.Something we were only made aware of after proactively calling to advise of our late arrival, a courtesy message in advance would’ve been appreciated.Breakfast was equally disappointing. Unfriendly and unwelcoming staff, not even a smile then questioned why 3 guests occupied a triple room, despite our booking for 2 adults and a teen. On checkout, they attempted to charge for a 3rd person, citing the king size bed was only intended for 1 guest, an unusual & frankly unreasonable assertion for a triple room booking. There was a noticeable absence of basic customer service throughout our stay. The situation was handled poorly with no effort made to listen, apologise, or any form of resolution. The room itself left a little to be desired, dirty mug and traffic noise on the main road disturbed our sleep. Breakfast was mixed, the full English was well cooked the egg Benedict however was overdone and lacked flavour, this remained uneaten yet no one inquired why at the table or at checkout. Had the staff shown even a degree of friendliness or care, we wouldn’t be leaving this review. Sadly, they’re unprofessional and indifferent approach left a sour taste, literally and we would choose not to return.

The staff are amazing and the food in the bar is lovely. I stayed in room 3 and the noise from the road is terrible. The noise doesn’t stop all night. The shower has a wooden frame running through it. It’s covered in cob webs and the room was also not cleaned and covered in cob webs. Unfortunately due to the cleanness of the room and the noise I wouldn’t stop there again. Though I would definitely eat there again. Shame as it has potential to be a lovely place to stop.

1 night stay Stayed in room 1, bed was a little hard for me. Also radiator in bathroom was permanently on and couldn’t switch off!! Not ideal when the temperature outside is 25 degrees. Food was nice but it was an empty restaurant with 2 dinners at the time, which they put us both in the corner next to each other. Felt a bit intrusive.
