Warm magic in the heart of the Black Forest

Lovely Christmas stay in the Black Forest The house is two floors of a three-floor building. Entered by the metal staircase you can see in the picture. The interior is tasteful, and we found it well cared for. The rooms are lovely and all the bedrooms are a good size. The living room and dining area are much larger than the photos suggest. The place is spacious, with lots of space for everyone. It was always warm and was very well insulated and heated. The kitchen is pleasing and perfectly adequate for cooking for the number of people we had, essentially your standard holiday let kitchen. The Wi-Fi was great, and we had no problems with it. The house is fantastic for those who don't have a car as it's about 200m from the railway station. Moreover, because the owner is part of the Konus card scheme, you get free public transport for the Black Forest region for your stay. The train runs every half-hour to Freiburg, and several lovely towns are on the way - like Hinterzarten. Neustadt is a sweet little town with an excellent bakery and a couple of good butchers. There is a fine restaurant called Klösterle, which is a must if you're staying here, although you'll need to book. Behind the house is a path leading to the hills, and there are some fine walking and trail running routes. For those adventurous enough, there is a lovely walk/run to Titisee, and then it's easy to get back by train.
