The place is great for a tremendous view of the sea. Despite friendly service, the food is a let down. Cheap quality and underwhelming. The burger was average and the coleslaw dry and deeply disappointing. Visit for the view and a pint but avoid the food.

We arrived on a a very sunny, crowded evening around 5 pm. We had driven from Oxford and were tired after touring Tintagel Castle. We were carrying our bags from the car park as we did not receive any information about where to park for lodging. We went into the pub and told the woman in charge we had a booking. She said"what kind?" I said lodging (obviously as we had our bags). She told us to sit down and wait while she sat several folks coming in and asking for tables. Once she had time she showed us to our room, quickly explained the fire escape and where to park and left us. She was very brusque, unfriendly and not helpful in any way. My daughter (29) and me (71) were rather stunned! My daughter went to move the car and had an extremely difficult time making the turn up to the parking area. Crowds of people, empty beer kegs and an incomplete understanding of the difficulty to make the turn up to the parking hill caused her to scrape the side of our rental car. We felt if the management had taken the time to show and explain the parking situation my daughter would not have had this incident. She drove all over the UK without any problems at all. This lodging was the beginning of our stay in Cornwall and it tainted the experience. We were very sad as this was our first time to visit our ancestral home.
