Excellent customer service. Staff are accommodating with last minute changes. Fantastic room options. Love the breakfast options. Always taken care with the fantastic rewards program. Excellent choice of hotel brand. I rate this hotel up there amongst luxury hotels!

We had read online before we booked that they have had problems with the hot tub working and the hotel makes no effort to inform the guests prior to their reservation. We enjoy having a hot tub so tend to reserve rooms where one is available. We called the day before leaving home to make sure it was working and was assured that it would be working. Upon arrival, the jets were not working. We called the front desk, the girl called the maint man and was told that it had not been working for a few days and would not be fixed during our stay, apparently the pump was seized. I understand that things break, while its no ones fault, the hotel has a resp to provide the services they claim to have or compensate their guests. We paid over $350 for one night and felt as though we did not receive what we paid for. When I emailed the manager Selena the next day, (no manager was around when we checked out mid morning) her response suggested she couldnt care less. Her words, Our hotel is very busy and reselling that room had you opted to leave would not have been a problem". In other words, we dont need to worry about customer satisfaction, we are going to rent the room anyways.

Checked in Friday, August 29th to be informed that both pool and hot tub are out of order. When asked for a discounted rate was informed that wasn’t an option. Was advised that they would cancel our reservation with no penalty and we could look for accommodation's elsewhere. Front desk staff was professional but at the end of the day management did not support price reduction. Conveniently no management staff was on-site during check-in but was given email contact for manager who replied in a reasonable time frame. That said the email reply was basically happy to cancel your reservation with no charge and you can go elsewhere. Have stayed here before with no issues but after this disastrous experience won’t be staying here again. With no pool/hot tub option this hotel is simply not worth the inflated cost. Would advise future guests to save roughly $100/night and stay across street at comfort inn. Additionally be warned - I was advised that because we booked through ******* there was very little they could do even if they wanted to due to how involved the process was. Definitely felt my booking through a third party site was a factor in how they handled my concerns. Lastly - as is usually the case in a complaint online, management from the hotel will likely reply to this concern asking me to contact them to discuss further blah blah blah. Know that I reached out and connected with management during check-in. My concern isn’t with the staff at the desk really - it was managements response to my concern when they were made aware.

Microtel, Kirkland Lake, Ontario is by far one of the best hotels I've stayed at in Ontario. I have family who I visit annually. This is my 3rd trip. I always stay Thurs-Mon. There is nothing negative to write. The front desk staff go above and beyond to help. The entire hotel is clean. The guest rooms are spotless. The in-room amenities are great. Even the wireless is great. Although the hotel was booked full, I never heard a sound when I was in my room. Breakfast is an assortment of hot, cold, muffins, waffles...whatever you could want. I highly recommend Microtel Hotel in Kirkland Lake, Ontario.

Hotel was super average, nothing negative or not worthy from a positive perspective. If the hotel was around $150 mark it would be perfect however based on the value that’s being received, I don’t think it’s worth the price that is being charged. In my humble opinion, the hotel is taking advantage of a availability situation and as a consumer appeals borderline like price gouging.

Very comfortable beds. Good breakfast but pricing is outrageous at $300 bucks per night for a 2 queens room.
