Beautiful place, lovely food and the pool/spa is really nice. We had an issue with our apartment and the staff were super to resolve it, we really appreciated it. Would absolutely go back, highly recommend.

What a disappointment! We were gifted this trip for Christmas and now wish the money hadn’t been wasted. We arrived at Portavadie to be given a map, key and electricity card with barely any guidance about the accommodation, parking, facilities etc, then went to the actual room. First thing we noticed was the floors weren’t clean, but when we looked more closely we saw nothing was very clean and the condition of the units was awful - doors didn’t fit and the plastic was peeling off. The bathroom had poorly repaired cracked tiles. Looking to freshen up after travelling, we discovered that the water pressure in the shower was woeful. Washing and rinsing hair was hugely difficult and took forever. We paid £30 each for the Spa Experience, another total waste of money. There was a sauna, steam room and a hydro pool (with some of the function buttons taped off so they couldn’t be used) and that was it. Not worth the £60. We could have just accessed the normal facilities for free, and wouldn’t have felt we’d missed out. For a real spa experience there should at least be separate changing facilities that don’t need you to walk across the reception and up a set of stairs. Food in the restaurant was ok, not very imaginative and definitely over-priced. There needs to be something done about some of the servers personal hygiene, as the body odour smell was dreadful. Working long hours wasn’t the reason as we ate at 6pm, and 8.30am, so early in the service. All in all, we won’t return as there are far better places to go where it is actually a luxury resort, with the accommodation and facilities to match that description. Having spent the earlier part of the week at the Auchrannie on Arran, where the service and facilities far exceed here, we could see the difference in quality and will stick to there next time?

Fabulous location, the infinite spa pool had spectacular 180 degree views across Loch Fyne - real wow factor. We stayed in a Townhouse Apartment, wonderful open living space on the first floor with a balcony over the marina, great for online working environment. Overall the accommodation was excellent, bathrooms exceptional quality and range of fittings. One ask, we did miss better quality pillows, the foam ones were a bit lumpy. Restaurant was exceptionally good quality and service was very good. The only ask would be more fish on the menu, had expected more choices being so close to the Loch Fyne fisheries!!!

It was a last minute decision to spend one evening focusing on some valuable father son bonding. We were prompted by the proximity to a golf course with outstanding views and the ferry terminal to spring across to Machrihanish. After golfing at Kyle’s of Bute we went to the fabulous infinity pool to chillax before having a fantastic meal with food caught for the loch; and it was certainly more than Fyne. The staff were friendly and accommodating and the venue was inspirational.

The studio was nice. Large room, good bed with a table and chair to sit outside. The resort is nice. My favourite was the outside pool and bubble bath with the seaview. Unfortunately that was the only seaview in the resort. The real disappointment is the restaurant. The staff are mostly good apart from a moody and rude team leader, especially at breakfast. The basic food is correct but they don't know how to cook fish dishes. The langoustines (£28) were so overcooked that once I took the shell off the flesh disintegrated into a liquid mush. The monk fish (£32) was better cooked but served with mash potatoes and mushy peas, really?! At breakfast their automatic coffee machine was broken so we could only get tea. They do have an espresso machine behind the bar but we couldn't get some coffee! This resort would be perfect if they put their act together in the restaurant.

First overnight visit here . Lovely welcome at reception and off to our Studio apartment we went . Gorgeous wee layout with everything you need . We had no plans to cook but everything is in place in the kitchen if you choose to do so . We even had our own little chairs and table out the back overlooking the loch . fab food and leisure facilities in the actual hotel . They have new Glamping pods which look fabulous and I would consider them next time . The spa area is great and the infinity outdoor pool with a view is breathtaking . Highly recommend

We got this as a wedding gift and were very much looking forward to our stay. The grounds are lovely with stunning views and our studio apartment was nice. Unfortunately the beds were really uncomfortable. It was two single beds pushed together which we have had many times before and always fine. However, they were far too soft, so much so we both would end up rolling into the middle of them and became a broken sleep. My husband suffers back issues so this wasn’t helping his back and he ended up sleeping on the leather couch at the end of our bed, with a bath towel and a throw, not ideal! We booked dinner for 6pm, we had 4 severs ask us if we wanted a drink within 5 minutes of sitting at our table. When the drinks came, there was a jug of water and glass of Prosecco on the tray and the waiter took the jug off first which was the heavier of the two which caused the glass of Prosecco to tip off the tray and splash over the table and onto my husband’s t-shirt. We ordered our food and no word of a lie, one minute later my husband’s scallops were in front of him, mega fast and he had to check they were all cooked. The rest of our food was delicious and good sized portions. We finished dinner around 7:30pm but there was no bar or anything for after dinner. We sat above the restaurant for a few drinks but no music, no atmosphere and could just hear the banging of plates/cutlery and kitchen noise the whole time sitting there. We tried to order another drink upstairs but were told by the server we had to go down to the restaurant to order. To then be told down there that they would keep a tab open and would bring the drinks up to us so I don’t understand why the server couldn’t have just taken our order when we first asked. We were back in our room by 10pm as the restaurant shut then and there was nowhere else to go and chill or do at this time. Back in the room to an early bed. We had breakfast booked at 8:30am, I ordered the full breakfast and was very disappointed. My scrambled eggs were tasteless, cold and like rubber, the bacon was pink and stuck together and the sausage was hard. A shame as the venue has lots of potential to make it really great. The spa and gym were great and the pool table, table tennis etc looked good but shut at 5:30pm. They could even have this open later to go to after dinner for some down time with a few drinks. Lovely place but quite disappointed with our experience and what’s on offer.
