Our 5th visit to this oasis of calm. Particularly notable this time was the quality of the service and friendliness of the staff. It really is second to none. Breakfast is sublime and dinner in the restaurant was also very good. One minor (and I mean minor) issue was for the second visit in a row the outdoor pool and hot- tubs were colder than usual. The staff did apologise but it does impact enjoyment of these unique facilities

Myself and my partner had a wonderful overnight dtay in Portavadie Marina and we had a great time what a beautiful place could not fault it staff were great ,rooms were great,food was excellent cant wait to go back . Journey there was fantastic we are so lucky to have such amazing scenery in our country.

Every time we come here, it gets run down more. This time after travelling in excess of 300 miles to get here we find the pool is shut for the length of our stay. The pool's the reason for choosing this resort. There was no prior notice of this.

Staff in receprton were excellent and helpfull. We stayed in cabin and as this is not our first trip to Portavadie we found the cabin excellent and would ask for it next time . This time it was all that was available excelkent accommadation. Had treatments once again staff excellent as was thermal experience. Ate in restaurant both night spent approx £120 per evening on food and drink one evening with wine one evening soft drinks. Food excellent staff excellent efficient yet friendly. Overall a lovely weekend break

Fantastic facilities and service in a great location. In just over an hour from the Scottish mainland you feel like you're in another world of beautiful countryside and scenery. We had a nice meal in the evening and there was lots of choice for breakfast too. The pool facilities are rather special as well. Shout out to Mrinal for excellent service as well, thank you!

We had stayed at Portavadie previously (2021 and 2022) as a small family but this time we brought my wider family back to celebrate a big birthday. The luxury apartments we stayed in were spacious, comfortable and well-equipped for our needs (we did not cook for ourselves). Unfortunately the main swimming pool had a fault and was closed, which was a big disappointment to three 10-13 yo children with us. All other pools were open but quite crowded. The staff at reception, in the spa and in the restaurant were all very friendly and helpful, and the standard of the food was excellent. Unfortunately in the restaurant there was a lot of miscommunication between waiting staff and kitchen staff: orders were forgotten, arrived cold, were incorrect. When you're paying this much to stay somewhere you expect the details to be right and there shouldn't be cones, barriers and 'maintenance aware' signs all over the place. Overall the facilities need significant investment and better training of staff in the restaurant. We probably won't be coming back any time soon.

Shepherd's hut was gorgeous, cosy and spotless...the restaurant staff in particular were all very friendly and helpful. This was my third visit and for the first time I was very disappointed in the the pool facilities....indoor pool was closed for our 2 night stay, limited changing cubicles were available, spinner for soggy costumes was out of order. Whilst I appreciate that things can go wrong or breakdown the most concerning aspect was the very obvious dirty looking scum line around the entire perimeter of the outdoor pool! For me hygiene and cleanliness is the most important aspect of any swimming experience and this lack of care is simply not acceptable...it also meant I was not happy to use the facilities the next day! I highlighted my concerns when I checked out and while the receptionist thanked me for my feedback, I left feeling that for an "Award winning" resort and spa things are not all they should be and on this basis I'm not sure we'll return.

Fantastic four nights in a cottage in August. The cottage was well-equipped, with an en-suite double and a twin and included a good breakfast. The absolute highlight was the (very) heated outdoor pool which we booked in for at the end of each day. Such an unusual experience for Scotland! Staff were friendly and helpful. Small shop onsite for the basics. Highly recommended.
