The Stables

Having viewed the property and seeing a 9.2 review rating. I was expecting a lovely cosy cottage with a bit of wow factor. Unfortunately, it was far from the case. As lovely as the hosts were, the accommodation did not come up to scratch and certainly didn’t match their review score. Plaster coming off the wall, dated and tired décor, electrics which trip out and have obviously not been certified in a while. A disappointing stay I am sad to say.

Don't just don't. Never walked out of anywhere before, unless .....someone has ; replaced all the bedding , pillows, mattress cover, quilt, toaster and net curtains. PAT tested electricals, maybe repaired the plasterhole in wall, missing middle of windowsill and reattached the top of the wardrobe to the wardrobe.Just don't. Disappointed I am still awaiting a refund after sending my bank details twice.

Great little place Great communication day before arrival. Check in was easy. Nice little accommodation and all the food choices left for breakfast were amazing.

Disappointing Stay The Stables were convenient to our planned activities in the area. We found it difficult to get into the location - we did not travel with a phone that had service in England and had no way to contact the owners when we arrived. We were never able to open the gate on our own to get in - had to yell over the gate to try and draw attention to our arrival. Needing to back car in from the busy road to a courtyard area with tight walls and other vehicles was nerve racking. Room was large with two bed areas, kitchenette and bathroom. Mattress was not comfortable. Power went out of the unit in the morning so unable to use the kitchenette for breakfast. Went to owners home, across the small courtyard, but unable to reach anyone about the power. Most disappointing location of our entire stay in England.
