Delta Hotels Thunder Bay

I recently stayed at your hotel and opted to pay an additional $100 per night for what was advertised as a larger, upgraded room. Unfortunately, the room we were given was noticeably smaller than those of the guests we were travelling with, who did not pay for any upgrades. Their rooms included couches, whereas ours did not even have the space to accommodate one. It felt more like a downgrade than an upgrade. Several other aspects of our stay also fell short of the standards we’ve come to expect from Delta Hotels: • Room Service: Meals were delivered in paper bags, which was surprising and felt inconsistent with Delta’s usual quality. • Toiletries: We had to go down to the front desk ourselves to request toilet paper, as none was left in the room. • Towels: The towels provided were extremely thin. Only on one of the four days were we able to get proper, plush towels. • Parking: The parking lot was located over 300 metres away with no security presence. This felt unsafe given the surrounding area. While it appears there is underground parking onsite, it seemed reserved mostly for staff. • Restaurant Options: The in-hotel dining options were very limited, which left us having to leave the property—again, through an unsecured area—for meals. While the facility itself matched what we expected, the overall experience was significantly diminished due to poor service, questionable management decisions, and what felt like a lack of attention to guest comfort and security. To say I was disappointed and overcharged for this stay is an understatement. I hope this feedback helps to address some of the shortcomings and prevent other guests from having a similarly underwhelming experience.
