We got a warm welcome from the owner at the restaurant and then walked next door to the Inn, which is adjacent to the restaurant. The Inn has some non typical features not found in local b&b's. All rooms are on the ground floor so there's no lugging your suitcase up steps. Our room was large and also had the option to turn on the air conditioner for an additional 5 pounds which we took advantage of because it was a very hot day when we visited. It also had a mini fridge. There is ample free parking. We had dinner at the hotel and it has a large menu and delicious food. The next morning we returned for breakfast, and it was equally as good. It is about a mile away from World of James Herriot.

We had a great 5 days in the king size suite it was lovely everything you needed was in the room , from water in fridge tea toiletries, hairdryer nice towels. The owners Nick and Lorette were always on hand and made your stay very pleasant. The breakfasts were really lovely and filling and the restaurant food is all home cooked and really lovely, their Sunday roasts are amazing. We were shown their double bedroom barn extension before we left and we liked it so much we have booked a week in it this summer. We would recommend this little gem of a place for a stay if you are visiting Thirsk area. They also allow camper vans on site, and they have parking facilities As well. A well run and welcoming family run business.

Excellent location, plenty of parking. Check in very easy. The rooms are excellent, plenty of room, comfortable bed. Bathroom clean tidy and plenty of hot water. Dinner, large menu with specials board. The food is excellent, tasty and well presented. Breakfast hot and is excellent. Service here is brilliant and is a 10/10. Definitely worth booking and will use again when passing.

Very comfortable room, excellent dining and very friendly staff. We will go again and have already recommended it to friends. It is very close to Thirsk and its attractions including the museum for the All Creatures Great and Small programmes.

Would recommend. Very generous sized room for a great price. We had very satisfying cooked breakfast and two excellent evening meals. Eating in the lively bar was very enjoyable but had no welcoming atmosphere for breakfast. A little music perhaps would be appreciated. Lighting in the room was quite dimm making shaving, contact lens care tricky. Also ceiling light hanging down which looked quite dangerous. However, enjoyed the stay and had a good time

Third time we have stayed here which ought to say something. Very convenient for the A1 and the rooms are pleasant, clean and comfortable. As well as that the restaurant serve very good food at reasonable prices, as it was our final night of our holiday in Scotland and we were travelling home it was very welcome. Parking is convenient and close - just outside rooms.
