I had dinner at the restaurant and would like to commend the service of the manager on duty, whom I believe is Mr. Sonam. The restaurant was full for a party that evening, but the manager recognized me from the day before and created a space for me to have dinner. I was very impressed by his commitment to hospitality and greatly enjoyed my experience. The food was delicious.

Very basic hotel. Facing loud street. Standing water in the shower. No air conditioner. Hair fan upon request. Rooms are small. Definitely on the lower level of what is available in Bhutan as far as accommodations go. Wouldn’t stay here again given a choice.

It is certainly very convenient because it is centrally located, a two-minute walk from the Clock Tower and the main road. More comfortable than the hotels we have stayed in in the side valleys in Phunakha or Gangtey, but undoubtedly very anonymous. Room and bathroom with very basic and styleless furniture. The road in front of the hotel is very busy and noisy. The dinner and breakfast buffet were a little better than other hotels. Considering the average offer in Bhutan, undoubtedly a little better than the other facilities we stayed in.

The Willows staff went above and beyond to take care of our big group of friends traveling. From setting up the fire every night to organizing 4am taxis to the airport- everyone was so helpful! Rooms are very clean and ours had a great view of the soccer stadium. Close to many great spots in Thimphu.

I stay at The Willows every time I’m in Thimphu. This is probably my 6th stay and it won’t be my last. Bhakti and the rest of the staff are so friendly and welcoming. The hotel is always immaculately clean and the rooms are just perfect. I love the airy windows and views over the stadium. Everything is so close to walk to, with lots of great restaurants around. I love the live music they sometimes have on the patio where they serve momos and dosa, among other great menu items. The atmosphere is always fantastic. Highly recommend!
