"Our stay (2 weeks, our honeymoon) at Costa Smerelda was wonderful. We chose the hotel for its peaceful location, and charming town, and it was just what we wanted. The hotel staff are friendly and polite, and strive to make your stay a happy one. The whole team was great. The hotel was very clean. Yes, it would benefit from some updating, but it didn’t detract from our enjoyment. The balcony was well furnished, with an airing rack complete with pegs. The views from the balcony are outstanding - boating activity, and islands on the horizon (Corfu, Paxos, Antipaxos and Lefkada). There are plenty of sun loungers and sun shades by the pool and on the deck by the sea. Snorkelling is interesting there, entering the water from the deck. A short walk away is Mourtemeno Islet, with its beaches (you need to wade through waist-height water to get there). The town of Syvota or Sivota is also a short walk, with plenty of restaurants and some bars along the waterfront, and on the inland streets. We loved our honeymoon. Thank you to Team Smerelda for making our stay special."

"We came to this hotel with the school for dinner during a school trip. The service was quick, and the dishes arrived promptly. First, spaghetti with tomato sauce: needless to say, it was overcooked, with only a few smears of tomato sauce. Next came chicken with baked potatoes: nothing to complain about the potatoes, but the chicken, which looked fine on the outside, was raw, and you could see the blood inside, near the bone. I ate a couple of small pieces and threw up a few minutes later (I wasn't the only one). I recommend avoiding it, even though it's conveniently located for those traveling by boat."

"Beautiful Hotel with stunning views from our room 101. We booked breakfast only thank goodness.. The food that we did have from the buffet was always too cold. I mentioned to the restaurant manager that a lot of the heat lamps weren't working. but nothing changed. We had lunch from the snack menu delicious and cooked to order. We ate out at night at the harbour and all food was lovely. The pools were beautiful but a little cold...had to brace yourself. Overall we would stay at Sivota Diamond again."

Mövenpick Resort Agios Nikolaos Sivota Hotels in Thesprotia

Mövenpick Resort Agios Nikolaos Sivota

"Another memorable stay at Mövenpick Agios Nikolaos Sivota. Although most of the staff were new to the team this year the same high standards of service were in evidence from the front desk staff, the waiting staff, the guys at the Skipper’s Bar, the lifeguards, the cleaning team & the grounds maintenance guys (apologies if I left anyone out). Everyone went the extra mile to ensure we had a fantastic stay, thank you all so much. It always feels like we are coming home each time we stay. Just one item of feedback this time - the minibar. The policy is that the minibar is stocked on arrival, the use of these items is complimentary & any additional items thereafter are chargeable. This is a perfectly acceptable (& indeed welcome) policy however when we stayed in June 25 the minibar was stocked with 2 small bottles of wine, 2 bottles of fruit juice & 2 cokes. By our return visit in September 25, the wine had disappeared (with the excuse when I queried it that it was because it was a family hotel). This year the offering was derisory, consisting of only 3 items -1 coke & 2 bottles of fruit juice. When I queried the paltry selection at the desk my mild complaint was met only with repeated statements that these items were free to me (the inference being I should be happy I got anything at all). In fact that point is arguable in that the pricing structure no doubt incorporates these ‘free’ items. I would suggest that Movenpick review this minibar policy. It would honestly be better not to provide any initial complimentary items rather than the current miserly provision. Rather than being a nice start to the holiday it left us feeling somewhat short-changed. That aside we thoroughly enjoyed our stay & look forward to our next visit."

"Lovely hotel. We stayed in a three room apartment and had a very large balcony with a great view of the pool, harbor, and town. The kitchen could have been a little bigger, but it was fine. We had some difficulty getting hot water from the tap. The pool area was small, but the pool was lovely and there were comfortable sun loungers. The reception was only open for one hour a day, but at other times we were able to get help from the housekeeping staff instead. This is not a hotel for guests with mobility issues, as there are many stairs throughout the property and a steep hill leading up to the hotel."

Costa Smeralda ★★★★
"As soon as we entered our room, bathroom floor was wet (and not just a little, I mean splashing wet). Upon inspection it was because of a broken pipe under our sink. We informed the reception (took some time to find anyone, since “the reception” is a mostly empty kiosk next to the parking lot) and they said maintenance would come the next day and they don’t have another room. So we spent our first day with wet very slippery floor. Also our bathroom lamp was not working and neither was the soap dispenser. In the second morning our toilet didn’t flush. Still no possibility to change the room, instead we had a repair guy occupying our room for half a day so we (two adults and two young kids) had to use the public toilet by the pool for our needs, to change the clothes etc. When the repair guy left, he left his trash on the grass in font of our door, a random chair in our bathroom and our door open. Now our toilet flushed, but was leaking, so we still had a wet floor and no possibility to get a new room. The pool bar was expensive and free drinking water is not included with your stay. Since the closest store was 15 minute uphill & downhill walk in 35c heat away, we felt it was a very unfair for your hotel customers to have to pay for water and they charged 3€ for a scoop of ice cream for the kids. The breakfast reminded a hostel and not a 4* hotel. They only had 5 warm options and the trays were constantly empty even an hour before the breakfast ended. On the third day, still with a wet bathroom floor, not a working light and not a working soap dispenser, they said we could get a new room on the next day (our 4th day, meaning we would have to spend over half of our vacation in the room with a broken bathroom). We asked for a compensation for all the inconvenience (not being able to use our room for many hours, not being able to relax due to constantly looking for someone to speak to and get information (the reception kiosk was empty most times as the same woman was also serving at the pool, working the kitchen etc… ). On the fourth day we were promised a refund for all the mess, but could finally relax a little bit for the last few nights of our stay. Things I’d like to point out: … there are trash bags, boxes, tools, old furniture, broken things etc laying around the property. … don’t go with health issues, disabilities, babies or elderly people as you have to climb steep hills to get to breakfast, pool, the beach, the village etc. … the furniture is dated and there’s not much room for clothes (for 4 people we had one closet with 6-8 hangers, two small shelves and no drawers) … when you move the chairs by the pool to catch more sun (the umbrellas don’t close, so the chairs are in the shade), you get told off. … there is very salty sea water in the pool, it stings the eyes and strips the skin. The sides and bottom of the pool are greenish and slimy. … in some downstairs rooms, you can’t enter the balcony from your room, but have to go arou"

"MarBella Elix is by far the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. From the moment you arrive, you’re welcomed by an incredibly friendly and attentive team while taking in the breathtaking views from the lobby. The rooms are spacious, modern, and beautifully designed. Waking up to the stunning sea view from your bed is an unforgettable experience. The beach is another highlight. Even many five-star hotels can’t offer such crystal-clear waters and such a spectacular beachfront. The à la carte restaurants are outstanding, with delicious food and impeccable service that make every meal a memorable experience. A special thank you to HS Agency for recommending this incredible resort and for their exceptional service throughout the booking process. Their professionalism and attention to detail made choosing the perfect hotel effortless. If you’re looking for luxury, outstanding hospitality, a breathtaking beach, and an unforgettable holiday, MarBella Elix is a destination I can’t recommend enough."

"A very good hotel at the port of Igoumenitsa. We took a double room on the 2nd floor which overlooked the port. Excellent insulation with triple windows which kept the noise and the sun out of the room when the temperature outside was 40 degrees. Very efficient air conditioning. Very large terrace. Room quite adequate. Very friendly staff. I learned that it is a family run hotel. Very good breakfast We ordered coffee in the room in the morning for which we were not charged. Very reasonable room rate even in August. Even being a hotel at the port, it was able to keep the Greek hospitality"

"Unfortunately the hotel is not 4 stars but rather 2. It is not understandable in this day and age that there is no WI Fi in the rooms, only in the pool. The breakfast was very poor without any local products. Also the lack of staff was obvious. I give it two because of its location"

"Note the Bugalows are really 2 story blocks a few yards from main block, how they can charge a premium for these is amazing, also they do not have DVD or espresso machines at advertised. kettle in room told for warming babyfood, Food was poor, meatloaf for main course! drinks expensive more than I pay in central London 5* hotel and without the service. Took 3 days to move a room servcie tray from adjacent room. Views great but did not make up for feeling of being ripped off, this is 3 * place posing as 5* as has a spa."

"We have stayed here twice (about to be a third stay) as we island hop between Corfu and Paxos. A great little apartment, clean, tidy and quiet. A bottle of water was in the fridge waiting for us, along with a small bottle of white wine, coffee, tea and a couple of cans of soft drinks. Literally a 1 minute walk to the seafront. Comfy bed, great shower and shower gel/shampoo provided. Would recommend! Rooms 4 and 8 have a balcony, 8 is best for a sea view."
