Fairfield Inn & Suites the Dalles

Great staff. Super clean rooms. Breakfast was a nice touch. Filled out bellies before we continued our journey. Would stay again.

More like 4.5 stars. The check in people and breakfast staff were nice. The place seems to have been updated recently. Even the elevator smelled of new carpet. The breakfast had plenty to choose from, hot food and bagels and such. The shower was great. The only problem for both my husband and I (which rarely happens) was that the king bed was so hard. If you like extra firm, this place is for you. Maybe the mattress was brand new? I'd still come back for another visit and maybe ask for an egg crate.

Overall it was ok. Staff at breakfast was nice. I had a late check out @12:30. At 12:30, housekeeping was knocking at my door. I was trying to write a note thanking them and also apologizing I didn’t have more cash (it was only $4) and and also finish getting ready to leave. He was very rude. I have never been rushed out of my room in any of the hotels I’ve stayed at. Fairfield was recommended but I will not stay there ever again.

New remodel. We asked for a room on the third floor facing the mountains and enjoyed the view. The ladies at the front desk were especially helpful. There is a restaurant about a block away that is easily walkable. The food is fine. And it’s so nice not to have to get back in the car. It was calming to be able to sit beside the fire pit and enjoy the sunset. Very friendly management here. Their attitude is to make the guest as comfortable as possible. The room right here is higher than in other hotels in the area, but we wanted something we could count on. It was well worth it to us. Only complaint with the new room design is that they’re using the air conditioners with the sensors that “know” when you’re in the room. It does NOT keep the room cool for the entire night. You have to get up and move around or change the temperature setting to make it come on again. I don’t know who thought of these things but it’s ridiculous! I hope someone in Marriott Corporate will pay attention to these comments.

1. Bathroom Amenities: There was no hair conditioner provided in the shower, but instead two bottles of shampoo. Additionally, the body lotion appeared to have already been opened and used, which is concerning from a hygiene standpoint. 2. Pillow Quality: There was no option to choose from different types of pillows, and the ones provided were of very poor quality. They lacked support, which made it difficult to get a comfortable night’s sleep. 3. Breakfast Meat Options: The buffet breakfast offered very limited meat options. The only available choice was spicy sausages, which may not suit everyone’s taste.
