Our 5th year back. We look forward to the week every year. Relaxed experience, compared to a Resort packed with people. I book for the Lap Pool swimming in the sun every day for exercise is a dream. Sunset walks to town we cherish as well.

We were told that there would be a beach bbq - but they had a private event that evening, so not they had been planning it for weeks. The day before they told us the bbq was still on for guests then suddenly it was cancelled. They didn't offer other suggestions for this. All other resorts offered ability to catamaran, SUP, etc but they told us no all week bc they didn't want to bring in someone training for this. Very big disappointment. The restaurant was closed most night when we were told it would be open. Just a lot of promises that we realized were not even an option to us bc of going in now season. Otherwise it was great - beautiful rooms. Amazing pool, great beach. Love it.

Everything about our stay was exactly as a vacation should be. From before our arrival the staff reached out to assist in arrangements so we arrived with a refrigerator filled with our grocery list, scuba diving booked, and the hardest decisions we had to make on island were: beach or pool and pina colada or rum punch. We can’t say enough great things about Miss Sharon who hosts the Kids Club which our 7 and 3 year old both said was the best part of the trip. It’s the perfect amount of time to be a break for parents with plenty of time to make core memories as a family. Everything on property is immaculate and the staff is always all smiles and helpful. You can text the front desk at any point and the response time is impressive. There’s never a rush or a shortage of prime lounge chairs by the beach or pool so no need to camp out early or feel rushed. Staying at Somerset is truly an amazing experience!

We booked a 2-bedroom Ocean room and were shocked and utterly disappointed to see our room. It was completely outdated and stains on furniture, old yucky blinds. The pull out couch mattress was horrible, too! A fridge in the second room was left open by maintenance and reeked of dirty socks and old wet laundry. We traveled as a family of 4 (2 kids 2 adults) plus brought our nanny. We traveled during peak spring break so of course no other rooms were available. We spent $13k for just the room, and, despite T&C being a pricey island in itself, I feel like anything would have been better than this place! The staff were so rude. No one cared to help or get to know you/your family. I felt I needed to apologize any time I had to ask the beach/pool employees a question because I felt like a burden interrupting their chats. They seem to cater to what must be timeshare or condo owners on property who are repeat guests. One positive was housekeeping staff - they were kind and did a good job. The pool restaurant/ food on property was a joke too. The breakfast items that were actually good all cost extra which we happily paid for. Tea was always cold too. The small pool was cold but at least we weren’t expecting a big pool from the pics. I give it two stars simply because of the beach. It was the dreamiest, clean beach with a lot of privacy and a lot of space to play. You never fight for lounge chairs because this hotel is so small. I have traveled the world staying at 5-star properties in many countries and have never felt so duped before. I was literally embarrassed for having booked this place. We made our reservation a short 2-months prior to our visit, so the island was already very booked up. I would have preferred the next door property for sure - we ate and shopped there multiple times and were blown away by its sophistication. I haven’t written a TripAdvisor review since 2016 just because life happened (married, kids, work, etc) but we travel a few times a year and I felt compelled to share our experience to hopefully save another busy working mama from the disaster of booking this place. Please DM me anytime for specific questions I can help with. Unrelated - the airport is also a hot mess!! We paid express for the express option which was $1k for our group and had we not it would have been way worse with no AC and a baby!

Somerset is so good we almost don’t want to write a review so no one knows about it :) Just for comparison we went over the the Ritz and had dinner - it felt cold and soulless compared to the Somerset which had amazing warm families, solid amenities, unparalleled size of units, great beach access, pools for all ages and more. Staff is amazing. Tell your friends just not too many.

We just returned from a stay at Somerset and it was wonderful for a family of 4. Billy at the check in desk was very attentive during our stay making sure we had everything we needed. Nadine at the pool restaurant was great as was all of the staff.

This place is a scam!!! DO NOT STAY. I booked 3 nights and stayed one. I had woken early the first day for a tour. Only to wake up to no electrical in my room and have $300 in food spoiled in my fridge. It ruined our excursion since we couldn’t eat due to no electric. No ac. No wi fi. It’s was depressing. I checked out after one day and went to a real resort!!! The electric was on in the office and the hallways however not in rooms. I guess this resort rations energy and scams ppl. If you eat at their bar by the pool they serve you food that been sitting al day and nasty quality. We had 2 orders of chicken one fish taco and guac w chips. All for 200 dollars !!! BEWARE THIS IS NOT A RESORT. LOOKS LIKE A RETIREMENT FACILITY. no room Service. Zero customer service and extremely expensive for what it is. Don’t ruin your family vacation. It’s depressing. Still waiting for a refund. !! If ******* doesn’t handle I will be calling my cc. This place is unacceptable should not be on *******.

We just left The Somerset. As you can see I do not review places often but felt some things needed to shared. Yes the staff is warm & friendly. Yes the villas are spacious. But if you are looking for convenience, this resort is not it. There is no room service, no hot tub, no espresso machine on property, hard to get a taxi, limited beach service, the pool restaurant closes at 6, no actual building for the kids club that they rave about… We went 3 days buying expensive bottled water at the pool restaurant before we realized you could get cold water from the pool or beach attendants. This is an example of the poor communication throughout. No one told us the restaurant was closed our first night. No one told us how to use the TVs in the villa or that the kids room had electric blackout shades and how to use them. No one told us most of the shops in Regent Village are closed on Sundays. I was told there was only yoga on Tuesdays but then found out after the fact it’s also on Thursdays. It was also very difficult to get chairs at the pool. I brought my 5 year old down at 9:30am to swim and all the chairs by the front pool were “claimed” yet no one was in them. Some of them didn’t come down till lunch. Incredibly rude and the staff should have intervened. We booked The Somerset during their Black Friday sale but as the trip was approaching, realized there were 2 beds booking for less per night so I reached out and asked for a complimentary upgrade. They happily obliged yet when we finally got the keys to our villa, it was obvious this is a villa they do not typically book. Yes it was clean but it was very run down with a roach problem. They moved us to a different 2 bed on a higher floor and that’s when I realized we received a faux upgrade. I found this property through an influencer whose family is obviously prioritized when they are here. While I still believe it is a nice resort, it was absolutely not for us and I do feel like we were duped by her and her instagram posts. It was obvious while we were here that returning families are prioritized by the staff.

We just returned from a perfect week at The Somerset on Grace Bay. Our family of 24 took over three floors of the Dundee building. Our adventure first began with Stevonya and the rest of the reservation team with lots of questions about accommodations and kitchen items in the units. Each question was thoroughly and patiently answered. Upon arrival you are greeted with cold towels and a refreshing beverage. While you are enjoying this your luggage is off to your unit. The units were each perfect in appearance and functionality. Once settled in the pools were just steps away. We had several kids with us ranging from 1 to 5. The easy entry pool was perfect for kids of all heights. The beach was just a hop, skip, and a jump away which made it easy for the young ones to transition from beach to pool several times a day. The guys in the pool / beach area could not have been more friendly or accommodating. The same is true of the dining staff that serves you either poolside or on the beach. This was my second visit to The Somerset and I am already planning our next stay in my mind.
