We stayed in this area before and while roaming around it, we came across Rocky Point Resort. So, for this time, we booked a poolside villa for two nights. Bottom line: excellent decision! We came on a Sunday evening and literally had the whole place for ourselves for two days. Their busy days are Friday to Sunday, with lots of people from Bangkok coming down for a staycation. It’s NOT a party place, it’s really for winding down and relaxing though I can imagine that at new year and songkran, the excitement will build up in a nice way at this place. The ‘villa’ is basically a large bedroom (40+ sqm) with a covered outdoor sitting area adjacent to the pool - we loved the outdoor garden shower (of course, full privacy). The whole resort is super clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The resort has bikes to rent / no helmets and no child seats. In front of the resort, the beach is rocky, stones everywhere, hence the name :) but less than 100 meter left/right you can find a very nice sandy beach with lots of space for games and with trees providing shade, if needed. Breakfast is classic Thai style: three warm dishes incl American breakfast option, toast with spreads, fruits, cornflakes, orange juice (pack not fresh), instant coffee (milk from cereals). The whole province of Prachtausgabe Kiri Khan has a lot to offer. It’s surprising to see how few tourists, in particular foreigners, stop here and enjoy this beautiful area. Highly recommendable.
