Fairfield Inn & Suites Texarkana

The breakfast is highly appreciated, described as good and great. Guests commend the excellent and friendly staff, especially the front desk clerk. Comfortable beds and nice rooms contribute to a pleasant stay.

Great place to stay to rest

This Fairfield Inn is not up to Marriott standard, except for the staff who were friendly and helpful. First impressions were set by the difficulty in identifying the entrance to the parking lot from the freeway frontage road. Missed it the first time and had to go on a 2-mile (ish) loop to come around for a 2nd try. Entering my room (211), the first thing I noticed was damaged carpet at the entry and a pervasive musty smell, which suggested past water damage. The TV was off horizontal (damaged stand) and had an odd color cast. I was never able to establish a WiFi connection on my phone or tablet. So with the limited channel lineup, I had no good alternative options for evening entertainment. There was a lamp on only one of the nightstands, so if you were on the side of the king bed w/out a light you needed to walk around the room in the dark to reach a light switch. In the morning, the ice machine on the 2nd floor was not working (though it had the preceding evening). Overall, very disappointed and felt this location should be price-aligned with Motel 6 not as a Marriott brand.
