The Carlton Tel Aviv

My husband and I spent 3 nights at Carlton Tel Aviv at the start of our Jewish Heritage tour of Israel. The hotel was very pretty, with fresh, cold lemonade and warm cookies in the lobby - a touch we really loved. The location right on the beach is also convenient to the bike and scooter path, several nifty shops, the Carmel Market (a must-see!) and local nightlife and entertainment. Tel Aviv is a busy tourist area with lots of people, lots of sounds and sights; lots of energy and life. It's a magical place, and we were feeling our age by around dinnertime each evening. The hotel's rooftop pool and hot tub/jacuzzi are the perfect break from all the activity. The buffet at breakfast was a little repetitive, but the food was traditional enough to satisfy the culinarily curious tourist and diverse enough to take care of the more cautious who preferred to stick with what they know (omelets, cereal, fruits and the like.) We sprung for Shabbos dinner at the hotel and regretted it. It was 350NIS apiece (around $100USD at the time) and the food was really run-of-the-mill. My advice: Go out for Shabbos dinner or score an invitation to someone's house. Overall a nice experience!

The staff was extremely helpful, and courteous. The room was clean. And the view was beautiful. The breakfast was second to none. And I have been at many hotels in Israel. And eating while contemplating the sea provided a great start to the day. And the location can't be beat

Great experience from check in to check out. The staff clearly cares about the guest experience and goes out of their way to make sure everything is taken care of. Our room was clean, quiet and had the special bonus of great water pressure (and we were on the 11th floor). Overall, just terrific. Thanks much.
