Hotel Hacienda de Abajo-Adults Only-Lujo ★★★★

"Boutique hotel with querky antique furniture. Gardens and the pool are beautiful, calm and relaxing . Spotlessly clean, comfortable bed, powerful shower with plenty of hot water. The staff are friendly and could not be more helpful. The restaurant is elegant and the food is very good with a great selection of wines. The service was also faultless. We took the half board option and very much enjoyed it but felt that the menu would benefit from a little variety rather than being exactly the same every day. Breakfast was a little more hit and miss, the quality of the food on the buffet was very high quality, however items were often depleted and nobody was checking and replacing them. We noticed this wasn't a problem the mornings that the Spanish male waiters were on. Hot items are also available to order,again depending on which staff were on this could take some time. We felt that the hotel lacked a proper bar area. Drinks were available if you asked at reception but once the restaurant was open at 6.30 the waiters were then unavailable. Other guests we spoke to also said it would be nice to sit in communal area before or after dinner with a drink. It would also be nice if some simple snacks were available at the pool rather than just drinks. Overall a superb hotel and the above criticisms are minor but I feel it's very close to being perfect with a few tweeks."
