I've been staying at Ocean Pointe since the early 90's and have always enjoyed my stay. I suggest opting for the 2 bedroom model for the master bedroom view of the ocean. The one bedroom units have the bedroom next to the entry door and exterior walkway - the extra money will be rewarded with the view from your bedroom. The resort is convenient to some of the best restaurants in the Upper and Middle Keys as well as Robbie's Mariana and other tourist stops. Even when our destination was Key West we first stop for the night at Ocean Pointe so as to start fresh in the morning to continue our drive south at a relaxed pace. This trip was strictly for relaxation at the resort and it fit the bill perfectly.

The facilities are excellent, the only thing is that the bar and the restaurant are under repair and they did not inform us, but the treatment, the apartment, everything was very good

We booked our stay directly through the Hotel Manager Karel in December as this is our 3rd year & have never had a problem. We arrived our room and it was in the 5th building unit 5415 and it was NOT what we booked with the manager. I called the front desk and informed the receptionist that this is NOT the room we booked in December & she states that this is the best room in the hotel and that they assign rooms the day of check in. So needless to say I was very frustrated and asked for the room I purchased she states there are no rooms available for what I requested they are booked. So we had to keep the room and it was by far the WORST room I have stayed in Ocean Pointe. The next day the Hotel manger emails me and I quickly response , she still has not responded to my email to give me an answer or even offer an apology or credit me back money for the difference in cost of rooms. Room 5415 is dated the beds are uncomfortable, No Tv in spare bedroom, All TV were in Spanish so it was hard to navigate the basic cable they offered, the stools in the kitchen are so badly stained / dirty , stains splatters & holes on the walls, ceiling fans caked with dust. Showers had no water pressure so took forever to take a shower. No attention to detail at all in this room. They also opened a restaurant called Island grill for food, we ordered food from the location at the docks, and it was horrible food we had chicken, pizza and a salad everything tastes like its frozen and heated in a microwave. There are so many local restaurants that are much better and worth the money because they are expensive and include gratuity on very order its hidden so check your receipts. Very let down by the staff and the hotel in general. BOOK thru an owner / property management company on AirBNB you get to see the room and exactly how it is before booking. I will NEVER book thru hotel again for this reason and customer service has gone way downhill.

Terrible went as a family quick 3 trip my sister and her husband that has cancer and in kidney failure also took our parents on that our in mid 80's we have been here for less than 24 hours now and it now the fifth time we have been stuck in an elevator that we have been promised has fixed in 90 degrees weather The ice machine is pouring out water that freezes up and you could Ice skate in the freezer now No Internet or cable for 18 hours then we had to reset the cable boxes ourself Smoke detector beeping which we was promised to be fixed the first night we finally disconnected that ourselves Not handicap friendly as of when we got there all the throw rugs did not have slip pads no grip bars in the shower my mother almost fell as soon as she walked in the front door we had to go get a grip bar portable grip bar from the local store to put in the shower so she could shower We have reached out to the lady we're renting from we've also talked to the president of the community nothing has been done no offer to reimburse or even apologize for any of this although they promise this place was clean it is not when I did have to pull up one of the laboratory faucet things is full of hair I would definitely not recommend this place you'll definitely be reaching out to Me and my sister are both registered nurses have very little time off between taking care of her husband and my parents and full-time the only supporters of our family what we supposed to be a nice trip has turned into a nightmare trip that is just a wasted our money and our time definitely would not recommend this place to my worst enemy

I booked one bedroom room, for the labor day weekend, the space in the room isn't bad but need some changes, the sofa-bed was broken, I had a really hard time trying to pulling it out and when you do, one side of the bed felt to the floor, so you end it sleeping with your body in an angle, and when I woke up, I had a terrible pain in my back, the mattress was horrible and make a lot of noise, the other mattress in the room was uncomfortable too, the bathroom wasn't the best and in general the room need work

This is the second year we have stayed with Ocean Pointe Resort and love it. We book directly with the resort not on another site we have found the best customer service that way. We primarily come to the area for fishing. snorkeling and sand bar via boat. We stayed in 2/2 with an Ocean view from master and the guest bedroom is with 2 twin beds. Pros: The view from all rooms , property (clean, plenty of parking & secluded) , pool ( olympic size) , pool bar , food truck by pool , beach front area with chairs, a pier , boat ramp and dockage. Cons: The resturant is still closed due to hurricane so if you’re looking for more resturant style food it’s about 2 miles away plus a grocery store. ( not really a con as we aren’t that picky) The location is Taveriner which about 10 - 15 minute drive to Islamorada fish company and Robbie’s is a little further down but there is everything in between. Over all best price and location so close to Islamorada. We will continue to use this place as our lodging whenever we are in the area.

Queen bed in our unit was so worn out, it was like sleeping in a ditch. we slept separately and left early in order to go to a hotel to get good sleep. Tile was mismatched and broken. Low water pressure in shower and sinks. Beach area smelled like algae
