Grupotel Orquidea

I’m currently staying here at the Orquidea and I have to say this hotel I cannot fault. It’s half term so yes it’s very busy but still amazing. I’m away with my partner and 6 year old son. I’ll start with the most wanted to no things from what I’ve heard people ask. Sunbeds/pool area: The pool doesn’t open until 8am and yes people are queuing for the entry and it’s quite funny how when they open the barrier everyone runs for the beds, so if you want the “prime location front row of the pool” then yes you need to be here to queue as they are gone seconds from opening however there are so many beds just a bit further back from the pool on the grass area and still loads stacked up there all day so you will always get a bed. There is no food allowed around the pool you will get whistles at and told to take it back to the eating area. Same for smoking there is no smoking or vaping around the pool they do tell you off but there is lots of smoking areas to go to. There are quite a few lifeguards and the cleanliness is brilliant . Food: We’re a family of someone who likes health and one who like junk. For an a/I yes you will get some stuff like chips / cooked breakfast / pizza daily but the evening and breakfast selection I’ve never seen so much variety , the food is amazing from fresh fish fresh cooked different meats, pastas fresh made pizzas , sushi , salads , The drinks are good, cocktails included , even got slushy machines for kids on tap, beer you pour yourself to. Rooms: We have a split level sea and pool view couldn’t fault it only think don’t like is the beds are two singles pushed together not a double Grounds : Immaculate so well taken care of Kids club: Everything has to be pre booked on the app, there is so many things to do for them however especially with half term the spaces go so quick so 11am they come available to book for the next day and are all gone within a couple hours. They do evening ones to for 2 hours they are payable some are €15 some are €22 for it but they have such a good time these are like “party evenings” where they have events and even bring back things like they had a mascot party and all got the big teddy at the end so was well worth it especially as we could go eat alone for the evening. Spa: Amazing and quiet it does cost to use the pool/ jacuzzi etc but while they in club i thought it was good. Around the area there is a little square with lovely restaurants a couple shops and a spar to get snacks or drinks etc, however if you have little ones who don’t like to walk to far then you will need to get cabs everywhere as nothing around to walk to. We went to the water park and the Palmitos zoo/dolphin show and they were both amazing but we did them on our own not through TUI as it was so much cheaper to buy a ticket online and get a cab to these. Plus sometimes the times they want to pick you up is far to long like the zoo you couldn’t sit there all day for 8 hours it’s not big enough. But that’s perso
