We’ve (2 adults, 6yo and very nearly 2yo) just returned from 10 days at Hotel Orquidea and it was fabulous. It is especially good for families (if you want a quiet couples hotel this is probably not the one for you), with so much for the kids to do from kids club to the TUI Bot Assemble virtual trail to the variety of pools for all abilities. I was particularly impressed with the Kids club; it was very professionally run (not always our experience) with good staff:children ratios, a plan and theme for each day, and a robust signing in and out process. It gave me peace of mind that our child was safe. Food was good, and changed daily through the week. We also ate at the Taverna, which was excellent. The entertainment staff were phenomenal! The evening shows were a very high standard; the ones that were done in house and the visiting acts. In fact all of the staff were wonderful and communication was great. The pool was closed once during our 10 days because of a poop. The ground staff dealt with it quickly and professionally, and a member of staff came on to the mic to explain what was happening, the procedure and alternatives (there’s a sister hotel next door). This happened just after lunch and it was open by the following morning. We also had an issue with our shower which was dealt with quickly and without fuss. Although the hotel was full for our first week (half term) it didn’t feel too bad around the pool or food hall. There’s not a lot around the hotel, although public buses go from outside if you want to explore

We came home a couple of days ago and really miss it. We had a split level room with 2 adults and 2 children. The children had the sofa beds and said they were super comfortable. We had a 4 poster bed which was very comfortable but the mattress was lower than the surround which meant I received a few bruises from getting on and off the bed so just be a bit careful if you get one of these beds. The room was spacious and had plenty of space for storing clothes and suitcases. We were lucky enough to have a corner room so had a huge balcony and the views were amazing from the 6th floor. We had no issues with the lifts, all 3 were working for the entire 10 day stay, yes we might have had to wait at peak times but it was only a minute or 2. The hotel itself is fab and the gardens are beautiful and constantly had gardeners working on them. We found the pools to be spacious and didn’t have any issues with bumping into other people considering how many people were at the pool. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the pools at Orquidea more than at Playa Feliz and the TUI Blue F!t instructors were absolutely amazing, we loved the aqua aerobics and the energy that Stephany and Markus was infectious! They really made our holiday so huge thanks to both of them! Actually all the TUI entertainment reps were equally amazing, so a big shout out to Hannah, Ella and Ana who were just great with my 2 (age 10 and 12). One thing we really loved was the self service drinks (unless you wanted cocktails) it made it really easy to keep your fluids up in the hot sun! When it comes to food myself and my husband ate like kings! There was such a variety and we didn’t have an issue with cold or undercooked food. The children were a bit more fussy in the evening but loved the pool bar food and never went hungry. There is lots of evening entertainment going on in different parts of the hire, we particularly enjoyed the jukebox bingo (which we one once) and were extremely competitive during the Quizstorm quiz every evening (yes we also won one of the coveted TUI bags which my daughter promptly stole!) and the shows that the reps put on were amazing, such talented reps! Yes the evening entertainment finished at 11 but as we were awake early (also early risers) this was fine for us. If you are night owls this might not be the hotel for you. Overall, we had the best holiday and didn’t want to leave.

We stayed for 14 nights. Family of 6. Queue for check in not great but once we got to reception we were upgraded to a suite which worked brilliantly for us. The hotel was clean and tidy couldn't fault room cleaning service. Everyone said hello. The cleaning ladies were lovely, Pool area was clean and tidy and there were 3 pools with plenty of sunbeds. The fitness reps there were amazing especially Markus and Stephanie who had bundles of energy! The entertainment was excellent best I've ever been to. Food was amazing and the staff quickly cleaned up and got food out. Very efficient. Snack bars were great as well. If you wanted a quiet experience you could use the pool at playa feliz next door. This was a busy hotel so for us sometimes too many people. We had a balcony with a sea view couldn't have asked for better. The guys who booked excursions were really helpful and had a good local Knowledge. Including bus stops. Gran Canaria is super super clean! There is a minimal beach which can't really be used very well as it's so rocky so you can head to Maspalomas on the bus quite cheaply

The hotel was very clean with plenty of loungers and a great location close to the airport. The TUI Blue team were fantastic—especially the fitness team who made pool activities like aqua aerobics really fun. All the young staff were passionate and put so much effort into their work. The food was excellent, with lots of variety and quality, and the one-night Taverna restaurant experience was a lovely bonus. Cocktails and beer were also tasty. The only downsides were that the pool bar was inside the entertainment room, which made the floor slippery, and we saw a few people slip around the pool area—something to be cautious of. Overall I definitely recommend this hotel!

This was our first family holiday abroad and this hotel did not disappoint! the staff were amazing!! Especially the kids club and entertainment staff, they were so friendly and great with my 6 and 3 year old. The kids club felt very safe and they put so much effort into activities etc. we stayed in a family room and it was lovely and clean! the food was great! There was a fantastic selection for breakfast, lunch and dinner and also the snack bar by the pool came in handy for grabbing a drink/snack while at the pool. My partner also had a lovely back massage at the spa. I would highly recommend this hotel for a young family as there’s so much to do. The Tui App was great for finding out what activities were on and booking places at the kids club etc! Overall we had an excellent experience here

I initially made a complaint the night I arrived with my family after experiencing the dreadful standards of the buffet area. Plates were dirty, food is processed and under cooked and not at all what was expected from a TUI blue holiday. My wife ended up with food poisoning from eating in the buffet but aside from this, the quality of food was appalling every day. So much so, that despite being all-inclusive guests, we ate lunch and dinner out every single day and ended up spending a further £400 minimum on meals. We then got to the room where matters got worse. The sink was blocked, the shower did not work properly (sputtering and flicking between hot and cold) and there was no shower gel. USB sockets in the room were also faulty. The following day (Sunday 1st of June) after having called the TUI helpline and being directed to staff on site, I raised my concerns with the team at the hotel and advised them that I would not be eating in the hotel buffet and would go outside of the hotel to eat and therefore asked that they compensate me for the cost of the all inclusive fees as we would now need to pay to eat elsewhere. My request took 36 hours for a response. Various TUI reps, Jacob, Rahul, Hannah all seemingly having to speak with management to give me some kind of response which between changing shifts took 36 hours. The response I was given was that they would downgrade me to self catering and include breakfast as a gesture of good will, this would involve losing all other privileges such as drinks. This isn’t an acceptable resolution. Firstly, I don’t want the breakfast. I’ve made it quite clear I am not going to eat here. Secondly, I can walk up to the desk and downgrade myself at any point and relieve myself of all inclusive privileges and get money back. That is not resolution. It’s something available to anyone at any time. To my dismay, last night, I get back to the room to sleep and there’s a cockroach on the bed. I had to trap it in a glass and then inform the reception this morning that on top of everything, there are now cockroaches in the room. The response I was given by Jacob has blown my mind. He told me; “cockroaches in the rooms are normal” - wow. Just wow. Other highlights included someone else’s dirty underwear being found in our “cleaned room”, rude staff throughout the hotel & poor levels of communication of information. The final cherry on the cake was the transfer to the airport on our last day being scheduled for 4.5 hours earlier than the flight time despite the airport being a 15 min coach ride away. This wiped nearly 3 hours off our last day of the holiday. Wouldn’t recommend this place to an enemy for the money they ask for is my gods honest opinion. They’re barely a 2 star hotel in my opinion.

If you want a nice relaxing holiday stay clear. This hotel is full of screaming wailing kids 24/7. We have been to many family friendly places before but this is another level completely. The noise is horrendous there is nowhere to sit in the dining room because it’s so busy and everybody’s little darling are running about junk fooded upto their eyeballs. This hotel should only be marketed as a FAMILY HOTEL not suitable for anyone who wants a peaceful holiday. My honeymoon was completely ruined we spent so much money getting away the chaos so our all inclusive was a complete waste of money.

Arrived Monday 14th April for a week. When booking the holiday back in 2023, I was given two rooms. Im a single parent with three teenagers. I rang TUi and asked why the two rooms and was told because of the children’s ages that’s how it is. She mentioned on the phone she could put a note on asking for the rooms to be together with my children being neurodiverse I agreed with this. I booked and paid for the two rooms and also paid additional money for them both to be upgraded to sea view. We arrived and I was given just one room key. I pointed out I had booked and paid for two rooms showing the holiday confirmation. The lady at reception asked if we didn’t want to be all in one room. I said I wanted what I had paid for especially paying more for two rooms and two sea views. The lady went away and came back with two room keys one on floor 7 and one on floor 10. I explained two of my children are autistic and would be preferable if we were on the same floor at least as requested when speaking to TUI on the phone when booking. I don’t think this had been added to our booking like I was promised. The lady in reception came back with two keys for floor 7. We made our way to the rooms to find the first room was already occupied. I literally walked in on a lady naked. I went back downstairs and explained it was already occupied and I was told I could take the rooms on floor 10 and room 7 or I would have to wait until after 7pm for the people in the room that was occupied to leave. Bearing in mind we had arrived just after 4pm being up since 4am that morning, I explained I can’t be 3 floors away from my autistic children. I asked to make a complaint and the reception team told me the management would tell me the same thing. I got really upset and asked to speak to someone. Instead of management they got me a TUI person who seemed like she didn’t know why she was being involved. She didn’t say a word. The man on reception tried to play it down to the person from TUI by saying I didn’t like the room I was given, not that i wasn’t given what I had booked and paid for and then given a room that was already occupied. He was trying to put it across that I was being unreasonable refusing the one room when I paid for two, and that I was being unreasonable not putting two of my children three floors away from me. That really annoyed me!, The reception man said to the TUI lady they had overbooked which I thought was disgusting especially with me booking in 2023. If I had chosen to take the two rooms on floor 7 and 10 and my child had started having an autistic meltdown I wouldn’t have known being 3 floors away and this could have caused huge problems for the hotel and other guests, because of this We ended up reluctantly opting to wait for the occupied room to be empty, we didn’t have any other choice. I got in the lift and burst into tears. I have never arrived on holiday and been upset before. After waiting a while I was approached by the reception team and
