We stayed here and the courtyard at night was gorgeous, but the cleanliness of the rooms and outdoors was needing a little more TLC. We were there for business and we would have liked a bit more care for the amount of money paid for the rooms. Other than that it was a nice stay for one night.

I wanted to stay in Taos for forever. And I was not disappointed. This place was wonderful. The staff (hotel & restaurant) were amazing!! I arrived looking like a wet paper towel and immediately felt like an old friend. The hotel staff were warm and friendly, making sure I had everything I needed, but if I needed anything at all, to reach out to them. The restaurant staff were fun to chat with and made sure I had everything I needed to enjoy the giant nachos (including an amazing margarita and extra napkins). Just remember, it is historic and a little quirky, but when you're tired and your day hasn't gone as planned... the folks there will be there to make your day better and to make you smile! And I highly recommend waking up to that beautiful courtyard...

I knew when we pulled in the drive that it wasn't going to be a good experience. I am okay with old and vintage but I'm NOT okay with filth and dirt. Our friends got to their room, only to be greeted by a bat!!!!! We were told the place was sold out. However, our friends got a new room. The bat was never found. We were scared what our room would be like. We should have been. This place is a total dump. Nothing but filth everywhere you look. Toilets overflowing, could not get maintenance. There was not another hotel in town to stay. I was ready to sleep in the car because I was so disgusted. After being talked off the ledge, we decided to stay (with complete unhappiness). I am attaching the photos so that nobody else makes this mistake. Please reconsider if you plan on staying here. Find a bridge and a sleeping bag and save your money. If this place would invest a good ten to $15,000,000.00 (that is being conservative), it would be a gold mine. The property is pretty, but that is all I can say.

The website photos looked beautiful, but in real life the rooms are very shabby. The furnishings, which I imagine were impressive at one time were chipped and marred. A tile missing from the bathroom, filthy woodwork, carpet only partially vacuumed. The owners seem to have given up on maintaining this property. If you decide to stay there, just lower your expectations and you’ll be OK.

***Bed Bugs Beware*** We booked two rooms side by side for three of us to share and a person in our party was bitten by bed bugs (too many to count) with the bites showing up the morning after our second night stay. Hotel manager claims their pest inspection only found spiders and that the bites must’ve been from somewhere else. We all three stayed in a small house together in close quarters for 3 nights prior to the Sagebrush and nobody had any issues from that stay. All three of us had to toss clothes in the trash and attempt to sanitize our motorcycle gear as we were on a long motorcycle trip with a week to go still. I wouldn’t risk staying here again.

Stayed two nights, were assigned spacious suite in C building. Suite was ok but left a list of many housekeeping/maintenance suggestions at checkout. Beds comfortable, couch needs to be replaced asap. Wifi and a/c worked fine. Property looks nice, mature trees and green grass but please do not believe promo pics of pool. Will post pic of actual pool, yuck!! Don't think it is even open. Dinner in dining room was good food, nice service and moderate prices. Complimentary breakfast was ok but we skipped on second morning to go somewhere better. Caution: no elevators to second floor rooms. Our stairwell was filthy with dirt the entire stay. OK budget place but have stayed at much nicer in Taos.
