Basecamp Masai Mara

We had an incredible stay at Basecamp Masai Mara. We booked directly through Saruni Basecamp and stayed at three different properties: Basecamp Masai Mara, Leopard Hill, and Eagle View. We saw lions for 9 days straight in the Mara. The entire experience with Saruni was seamless, from booking our trip to arranging all our transfers and flights. We were lucky enough to begin our trip at Basecamp and were blown away by the hospitality. We had an enormous family tent, essentially combining two tents. Being right on the river was perfect. We enjoyed all of our meals with Ben as our dedicated waiter. He even surprised us on our last night with a dinner by the campfire. Each meal you had an opportunity to see wildlife - zebras, monkeys, baboons, elephants... It was incredible. You are right on the edge of the park, so game drives are very simple. We were lucky enough to have the same Masai guide travel with us to each camp - Daniel. So many incredible adventures during our time in the national reserve, including seeing the wildebeest & zebra migration crossing the sand river, which was an experience of a lifetime. We planted trees so that we could continue to have a connection forever with Basecamp Masai Mara. We hope to be back!

We loved staying at Basecamp!! I can’t say enough about the staff. They were always friendly, helpful and genuine. The grounds are beautiful and very clean. The monkeys who live on the grounds were an added bonus. The meals were delicious and you can’t beat watching zebra and wildebeest from your table. Our safari guide, Dennis, made sure that we had a great experience. I will definitely go back!

We had a wonderful stay at basecamp masai mara. The staff were great, the food was excellent and facilities were comfortable. Our waitress for all meals, Helen, made sure we didn't lack for anything The camp is surrounded by one of the most beautiful places on earth. Our guide John made the stay even better. He showed us everything the area has to offer, while also being extremely knowledgeable about every animal on top of being friendly and service minded. 10/10 experience, can't recommend enough.

A perfect place. Super good food, excellent service. Special thanks to Helen, who served us all our meals and did all she could to fulfill our needs, and to John Lesinko, our extremely knowledgable, nice and helpful guide and driver.

We had the best time here. Tents were great and quite big. Great outside shower if hot enough. Mornings and evenings chilli when we were here. Everyone really friendly and can't do enough for you. If you want a fantastic safari guide ask for John. He made sure we saw everything we wanted too and more. He's a lovely guy and also very respectful to the animals which he clearly has a passion for. If I go back I'll ask for John. He made our trip extra special

This is a beautiful camp in a beautiful location. The accommodations were wonderful, the food and service top notch. What a great experience it was being there.
