I like the design of the swimming pool so much. The visual experience of floating in it looks very different from that of floating outside. It is a whole room of traditional Ryukyu architecture, and the living experience is very good. Although the air conditioner broke down in the middle of the sleep, the service staff still tried hard to help solve it.

Magnificent hotel. Very attentive staff.
The traditional Japanese rooms are superb.
The French-Japanese dinner at the hotel is worth the detour.
The island is cute but there isn't much to do. I recommend going to the star sand beach and collecting star sand. It’s a good souvenir to bring back.

It was my first time staying at this hotel, but I was able to experience a wonderful time while thinking about life on Taketomi Island. The room I stayed in, the morning buffalo walk, the in-room meals, and the service from the staff were all wonderful.

正月休みに星のやといえば竹富島、と思い予約しました。 建物、施設は全体的に経年変化でやや古さがを感じます。 部屋は広々して、キレイですがが、扉、窓等が古くなってきて、立て付けが悪いです。部屋は座椅子と小上がりしかないので、腰が悪い人がくつろぐには難があります。椅子の部屋もあるみたいだったのでそちらを予約すべきでした。 あと、部屋のライトがとにかく暗く、部屋食の時は暗くて食べにくいです。 間の悪い私は夜は何も見れず、苦労しました。 部屋の備品ですが、部屋のコーヒーカップが茶渋で汚れてて、ヒビが入ってるものをそのまま置いてありました。 変えて欲しいと伝えて持ってきたコーヒーカップにもヒビが入ったものを持ってきました。 部屋にTVはありません。それはホテルのコンセプトで、理解出来ますがちょっと寂しいかなと、、。 でもBOSEのBluetoothスピーカーがあったので重宝しました。 飲食に関してですが、とにかく値段が高いです。 この値段を取るならもっとクオリティの高いものを出して欲しいです。ホテル全体での食事の場所、種類のバリエーションも少ないです。 このコストのレベルならもっとクオリティの高いところは沢山あります。 ホテルのホスピタリティは、悪くないですが、「天下の星のや」が、こんなもんか、と思うレベルです。JR九州のななつ星のホスピタリティを見習って欲しいです。 人はお金を払った対価を求めます。 これ以上コストがかかっても、それ以上のサービスが得られれば満足出来ます。 私の感覚では、残念ながら星のや竹富島はホスピタリティは一流とはいえず、コスパ悪いです。 個人的にはバリのアマンダリ、アマヌサやタイのバンヤンツリーの方が総合力は全然高いと感じます。 辛辣なコメントを書きましたが、この島の独特の雰囲気やホテルの建物自体の雰囲気、空気感はとても素敵な事は肌で感じました。 今後一層の努力を期待します。 旅行好きの旅人

Unpleasant stay. 3 stars at best.
Our stay at Hoshinoya fell short of expectations. Uncomfortable beds, stuffy rooms, and inadequate lighting marred the experience. Mediocre food and unresponsive massage therapy added to the disappointment. The hotel grounds were confusingly laid out, and the lack of beach loungers and presence of washed-up plastic bottles detracted from the beach experience. The insistence on proceeding with a kayaking tour during torrential rain, coupled with unjust charges upon checkout, further soured the stay. Communication issues with staff exacerbated the situation. Overall. Hoshinoya failed to deliver on its promise of 5-star luxury and we would in no way return. We felt ripped off and would rate this at a 3 star best in comparison to other 5 star resorts.

Un hotel precioso y maravilloso, ideal para pasar unos días románticos y especiales. No podemos irnos mas felices de este hotel. Ha sido una experiencia increíble. Desde las villas al servicio cuidado y la comida que hemos probado. Hemos pasado 3 noches para terminar nuestra luna de miel por Japón y nos vamos encantados con el hotel. Repetiríamos sin ninguna duda. La mejor opción para descansar y desconectar unos días.

It was the perfect place to relax after several weeks sightseeing Japan. The places was really beatufull and well maintained. Villas and team hospitality was impressive. One of the best experiences I ever had.

The resort is located in an astonishing island, with plenty of natural wonders to discover.
The hotel has a unique style, and it offers all the comforts and amenities to have a wonderful time.
In particular we loved the food, and the quality of the service. Definitely recommended.
