The breakfast and dinner are Japanese food. You may book the time of your meal during check in. The last dinner time is 18:30 hrs.

Free parking. Staff is very helpful and told me where to take bus.

The room is spacious as compared with other ryokan, with warm table area and in room in and outdoor bath. The public bath is also really nice. food is fair.

I really like the hot spring here. It’s not crowded, making it perfect for relaxing and enjoying privacy. I also love this hotel; the service is excellent.

Great onsen Japanese style lodging. Big complex with great traditional onsen provisions. Very spacious Japanese room. Good Japanese style breakfast and dinner meals. 5 to 10 minutes walk to main bus station which have various routes to tokyo centre, Nagoya, Takayama and Kamikochi

Onsen is very good. I like the garden design. Wholeall Food is fair.

The interior decorations are very good and very suitable for taking pictures. But the building is old, and there is only one socket behind the TV and another one next to the sink in the bathroom. There are too few sockets! The layout of the room is very surprising. Two chairs are placed in a completely blocked narrow space. It's really funny!

We really liked Okada Ryokan Warakutei. It is located in a great place, 5 minutes walk from the Hirayu Onsen bus terminal, which can be easily reached in an hour by bus from Takayama along a beautiful road. It is nice to walk around the village, picturesque views (if you are more lucky with the weather, you can go to Kamikochi or the cable car, or walk to the waterfall), behind the hotel there was even a grove of still blooming sakura (May 14!). The ryokan is beautiful, many bright details in the interior, everything is very authentic. We took a room in the annex (appex) - with its own onsen. This is pure pleasure! But we also visited the general one - rotenburo is beautiful. Everywhere is perfectly clean. The kaiseki dinner is delicious and plentiful. The staff is caring. I was pleased with the attention to detail (glasses placed in the refrigerator, for example). In general, I will recommend it.

Booked a two night stay with two meals. It is 5 minutes away from Hirayu Onsen Station, which is quite convenient. The scenery in winter is very beautiful. There are also open-air hot springs. There are not many hot spring pools, two indoors for female guests and one outdoor. There is no private hot spring pool. The food is still rich and delicious.

The room is old and the hygiene is not very good. There is a lot of dust and not many sockets. The outdoor hot spring water temperature is too high. The elderly may feel very uncomfortable. It is recommended not to choose if you have high requirements for quality. The food is not bad.

It was my first time to stay in a hotel with two meals and one night. The facilities include a small gift shop, the hot spring has a large indoor bath and an open-air bath, the large bath also has a small massage bath, but the outdoor spring water is too hot, it burns me! One night and two meals is OK!

The hotel is in a great location. It's only a 2-3 minute walk from Hirayu Station. I arrived at the hotel at around 1:00 and found that there was no one at the front desk. I could only check in at 3:00. The breakfast and dinner were very attentive, with rich varieties and good taste. There is a ski resort 10 minutes' walk from the hotel. It's suitable for skiers.
