We found the outside of the property to well-kept and quiet (i.e., away from the lakeside hustle and bustle). And the service was generally good. But our room felt like a very “tired” dorm room decorated with thrift shop leftovers, and it was nothing like the Granlibakken management’s room photos here on TripAdvisor or on their own website. Judging by the vintage of the landline phone in the room, the building we stayed in hasn't been updated since the lodge was built (70s?). We expect much better for the price.

We just loved our recent visit. The staff are so friendly and accomodating, the whole place is so clean, the rooms very well equipped and comfortable complete with black out blinds and parking right outside rooms. In late April, it wasn't too busy so we indulged in full use of the heated pool, sauna and steam room. Buffet breakfast was plentiful and so much choice. This is a total hidden bargain for anyone, alone or with families, big and small. All so spacious too! I also love the story of Granlibakken, as told in a special tribute display and within the walls of the main dining area. This place is a true gem and not just in ski season!

We loved our room with the outdoor deck, forest views, privacy, quiet, clean, comfortable and a beautiful room. They gave us a gift card to an amazing nearby bakery and coffee shop since their restaurant is not open this time of year. It was a wonderful stay, super experience all the way around.

Zak is a Rock Star!! We arrived late last night from a long and tiring drive only to find the sink clogged with debris and a smelly odor - causing stress and frustration because we couldn’t really perform our hygiene properly to freshen up and restfully sleep deeply. - The night front desk sent out the plumber who could only remove part of the clog - to a slow and still backed up drain. The receptionist instructed us to wait until the next morning to speak with Zak to solve the problem. Zak immediately apologized and worked to make things right above and beyond our expectations! We look forward to continue coming for Granlibakken’s great guest service. In fact, we just booked again 10/17-10/19! Thanks again Zak! Nessa and Tony

We loved the staff! We were there on 8/22 and had sweet fun playful yet professional and get stuff done crew. It was a marvelous balance! Joshua checked us in and explained the map and was thorough. Once checked in we went for a cocktail and snack on their outdoor patio. It was lively and bustling. It seemed like the staff worked as a crew- Taylor and Lukas were both charming and efficient. We sat close enough to the kitchen to hear their exchanges between the waitstaff. It was busy but they asked for what they needed, the salad side making sure everyone knew what they were out of, Arturo (hot side??! But maybe he was cold side… at any rate there were two back there slaying away and BOTH should be mentioned! ) and nothing went out without a ticket! No slop. Zero. It was an easy, open communication with everyone looking out for everyone. I love to see that!! Great teamwork!

I have been here twice this year for multi-day stays. It's by far the best place to stay in Tahoe City, north lake Tahoe. You get a perfect Alpine Lodge experience, with resort facilities and a great on-site restaurant that features Alpine and Swiss classis such as Fondue and Goulash. During my first stay, I was really impressed by the room and linen quality, very clean, white and in perfect condition, and the housekeeping will serve your room any day with a 12-24 hour notice. The restaurant staff, Carlos, Taylor, Lukas and others were knowledgeable, helpful and skilled at their jobs of bar tending, table service, and others. During my second stay, I needed an earlier checkout sue to changing mountain weather, and Omar at the front desk was prompt and efficient to provide me a future credit for the days I couldn't stay. Overall, I would say, if you're going to stay in Tahoe city, choose this place if you don't already belong to a lodge.

Lovely place for a family vacation. Just the right accommodations for us - a 3-bdr and a 2-bdr townhomes to fit a family of 14 w small kids. Special thanks to Rosalyn Santos, Front Desk Agent. She was helpful, friendly and overall an asset to the resort!

We booked 2 townhomes for our family reunion (13 total members) for 4 nights stay. We really enjoyed our stay here due to the friendliness of staff, particularly Rosa, the checking in person who was very pleasant, helpful, knowledgeable, welcoming to make our stay very memorable. The children in our group enjoyed the swimming pool. We also had a lot of fun with the tree top adventure located inside this resort. We’re glad we chose this place for our family vacation.
