Stayed here for 3 nights. Location is very good, easy to access everywhere. The room is showing signs of aging. Even the shower door closed but water still leaking and floor is all wet. We need to use extra towels to mop it.
Also the biggest issue is our room 1601, just outside our room, there are 2 big roof vent . Every morning our room smells like kitchen and oily smell. We feel very uncomfortable and we did complained to the front desk. That girl just answered me “thanks for letting us know”

There are some dust in bath towels (we found just once)
Concierge staff and the front staff were frindly and helpful
The front staff in the morning shift were kind too!
Even if the door was closed but the water from the shower was on the floor

the location is perfect, close to train station and near to shopping mall; however, the room is next to a main street, and the window/noise insulation is not that good, very noise at night. not recommended if you are a light sleeper

Good location, heart of the CBD, easy to walk to the buzzy areas, also easy to get plenty of passive cigarette smoke right outside the hotel from those low-IQ anti-lung people. Museum [Train] Station is nearby which is good - 15min ride to domestic airport, bus stops nearby can take you to The Gap too. Room was spacious, functional, it's not Hilton but no complaints, cleaning staff are polite and accommodating. No toothbrush or extra soap bars but they were very kind to provide it all when requested — even at 22:00. All staff were friendly, nothing but good vibes, except the Aussie high school girl who checked us in at reception on Friday evening. She was vacant in the brain department, seemed confused about being awake and conversing at the same time. Didn't tell us where breakfast would be (but i can follow my nose), what time it ends (i eat early anyway, so was ok), where the gym is etc. When asked, she said you get discounts on drinks at 'Cidery', although that's not the breakfast place, and i don't drink anyway but she wouldn't know that because she didn't appear to be a fan of knowledge or Q&A. All she said was "Breakfast is at 'Ember' " — clearly i'm supposed to know this world famous restaurant named after a dying fire, what floor it's on and which TV show the chef was on. I brilliantly figured out it's 'Amber', it is across the lounge from reception on the same level, which is one level above the entrance on Pitt Street, and i should've spotted it by turning around and checking all the angles, so my bad. There is no TV show chef but the buffet is quite good, as is the machine coffee (which is also nice and hot), so you don't need to order cappuccinos which is an extra charge (If you're new to Aus, note that all cappuccinos/lattes are at least AUD 5.00 and the service is always good, partly because they're having a laugh about selling you mostly warm milk at $5 a mug. Also coffees are never hot enough no matter how many times you say 'extra hot please' because according to law, only the weather is allowed to go above 33 degrees Celsius). Don't know if the hotel had wifi, because Reception-Girl-With-Plastic-Smile never mentioned it (It's ok, my mobile data is unlimited). The only useful thing she told us was the hotel is working on building a swimming pool someday. My wife said I must've met girls like her at Cornell except for the fact that i didn't. Overall i recommend Rydges (and also Hilton), although I prefer the correct spelling of "ridge".

When we checked in at the counter, the hotel staff said we needed to provide a visa card for deposit. The staff didn’t specify the amount at the time, and I didn’t ask because I was too tired after on a 10-hour flight. The next day, the card center sent a message to complete the full payment transaction, but I had already prepaid all the room fees on trip.com. This made me very worried. That night, I asked the on-duty staff for the reason. It turned out that they had mistakenly charged me more money.
Although they wrote an apology card and sent chocolates to express their apology. Also, they refunded the amount immediately. Due to the exchange rate loss before and after the Australian dollar, which made us a little unhappy.
On the other hand, they have a go green room cleaning service. We chose cleaning every two days, but they forgot to clean on that day, so we had to remind them in the morning, which also added a lot of trouble to me.

Very good and centralised location- walking distance to Chinatown, Pitt St Mall, George Street for main shopping & dining areas, with easy access to light rail, metro and train stations. World Square shopping area is just downstairs with a Coles supermarket and many eateries/bakeries around. The bed was comfortable, but I find the amenities are very basic compared to hotels in Asia countries (for example they don’t provide cotton pads/buds). The hotel is showing signs of ageing esp the bathroom but the room is quite spacious for a central hotel (we had both shower box and bath tub). Concierge is very helpful and courteous, the hotel supplies umbrella for rainy days which is a very nice gesture. Overall it was a great stay, thank you Rydges World Square.

Excellent guests service provided! During our check-in Louie was very helpful, he recommended us a variety of places to go to for food & attractions. As we arrived early and had to store our luggages, the hotel staff brought our luggages up to our room when the room was ready. There is a bathtub in one of the bathroom and to add on to our satisfaction there are also two basins ! The room is also very spacious and comfortable. Location of hotel is also convenient. It would have been even better if the hotel provide in-room slippers as well as body lotion.

Clean rooms and friendly staff. Great price for the location. Easy access to Town Hall train/light rail stations and Museum station, which we used everyday. Easy access to the airport. Since the hotel is in the middle of shops, restaurants, and bars in central areas, it can get pretty loud at night, even with the windows shut and curtains closed. However, we didn't mind the noise.

Everything was perfect, but a housekeeper opened my room door early in the morning twice all of sudden, and it woke me up.
I felt hard to sleep back after them.

Great location. The hotel room is still ok, but the bathroom is old and run-down. It might be time for a renovation.
