"Great stay at this Hotel ocean. Kids friendly, located by the main street and just a few mins walk to the walking street. 5 mins walk to the monorail.Very convenient. Great pool for kids. Not too deep, even four years old kid can stand and play with confidence. The pool offer free Floats eg donuts, mats, etc. There are 2 coins operated washing/drying machines. And so many stuff you can just take to use eg extra chairs, small fans, camping lights etc like in the pics I posted. Also there are selections of pillows to choose for your own comfort, so much selections of shampoos, baby’s soap to choose by yourself. 24 hrs drinks/tea/coffee. Play area for your kids. And some activities for your kids to do. The staff are helpful and always there for you. Even when I was there late night chitchat in common area. The room we had was family room for 4. Cozy and enough space for our bags. Overall. We had a great experience. Thank you."

Hyatt Regency Naha, Okinawa

9.3/10

Facilities: Hyatt's facilities are unbeatable, and the size is quite large for Japan. The breakfast selection was a bit limited and didn't change much over three days, but the food itself was delicious. The swimming pool is small, but better than nothing. The hot water temperature wasn't very stable at night, fluctuating quite a bit. And for some reason, the toilet lid kept falling down and hitting me. Other than that, everything else was fine. Service: Couldn't be better. Every time we arrived by taxi, the trunk was opened before we even got out, and they'd even help us check if we'd left anything in the seat 😂. All the staff spoke excellent English. Location: It's about 1600 JPY by taxi to the airport and around 5000 JPY to American Village. Kokusai Dori is a one-minute walk away, and there's a convenience store about 200 meters from the entrance. The pottery street across the road is fun to browse and shop. However, it's quite a distance from the port, the bus terminal, and Naminoue Shrine. I'd recommend staying closer to the bus terminal area. Kokusai Dori is a bit of a tourist trap for food, and there's not much else to see or do there.

Basic breakfast variety. Great location near to Kokusai street, many restaurants around. Staffs are nice and helpful, thank you a front dest staff, Itoh san, she can speak very good English, smile like the sun shining. Hotel connecting with a Tokyo famous restaurant “Moss” with pretty good fine dining with reasonable price, good to visit if your schedule not too rush, enjoy a 2 hours relaxing dinner there, you could taste Okinawa local fresh ingredients. Swimming pool is small, and you can swimming with flowers and leaves. Remember no mid night car parking, please enter earlier in the first parking get ticket for a day, count 15:00-11:00, ¥1500 per day. Nearby lowest rate is ¥900 per night.

Extremely clean and tidy. The room is very large and spacious for Japan. The surroundings are incredibly convenient, with Lawson, 7-Eleven, and other convenience stores right downstairs. It's also very close to day tour meeting points and Kokusai-dori, and about a 16-minute walk to the pier (for glass-bottom boats/whale watching tours). Highly recommended.

The location is super convenient, right at the entrance of Kokusai-dori. I booked a twin room and it was more than enough space for one person; I could spread out my luggage freely. The bathroom was also quite spacious. I couldn't tell if it had been renovated, but it wasn't too old either.

THE NEST NAHA

Sticking to my principle of 'new over old,' I ultimately chose this hotel in the city center. 'The Nest,' newly opened in 2025, cost only 1700+ for 3 nights during the off-peak season – incredible value for money! 📍 **Location** It's about an 18-minute walk to Kokusai Dori, and roughly a 5-minute walk to Asahibashi monorail station. Naha Bus Terminal is about a 10-minute walk away. The transportation is very convenient, which is a huge plus for us since we couldn't drive. 🛌 **Room Amenities** We booked a triple room. One of the beds was a sofa bed, allowing two adults and one child to sleep undisturbed. The bathroom had a three-way separation design with a shower area – it was my first time staying in a Japanese hotel without a bathtub! 😂 The room's downsides were, firstly, no wardrobe, just a hanging rack, and secondly, only a small coffee table, so storage space was very limited. 🏊 **Hotel Facilities** There's an open-air swimming pool on the hotel's top floor, with drinks offered at specific times. It was too cold for us to try it out, but it seems many people choose this hotel specifically for the pool. 🧩 **Nearby Facilities** There are three convenience stores nearby – Lawson and 7-Eleven – making it very convenient to stock up on snacks. The famous Jack's Steak House is also in the vicinity. 📝 **Other Notes** When checking in, they provided amenities for children (toothbrush, toothpaste, and a scrubbing sponge 🧽). We stayed for three nights in total, and housekeeping services were not provided for those three nights. Every day before heading out, we'd leave our trash and used towels outside our door for collection. When we returned, fresh towels and water would be waiting for us at the door.

Food: Breakfast offered both Japanese and Western options. Personally, I preferred the Japanese choices, as the Western selection was a bit limited. Both of the hotel's on-site restaurants were decent, especially the Spanish one, which served delicious food at reasonable prices. Stay: The room was very clean and tidy. Although the hotel felt a bit dated, the facilities were comprehensive. My only minor complaint was that the air conditioning unit was somewhat noisy. Location: The location was incredibly convenient for getting around. It's very close to Kokusai Dori, supermarkets, and shopping malls, making it easy to pop out for a drink at an izakaya in the evening.

We arrived almost midnight after a long day, looking forward to a good rest. The room (Deluxe Twin) was okay and comfortable, nothing much to complain about. However, the service was quite disappointing. We booked a Deluxe Twin under one name and naturally expected breakfast for two persons. Upon check-in, we were told breakfast was only for one, and we had to top up more than ¥5,000 for the second person. That was quite a surprise. What made it worse was the receptionist repeatedly making remarks in Japanese mentioning “Singaporean” during the conversation. Even if we didn’t fully understand everything, the tone and body language were uncomfortable and unnecessary. After a long journey, you really hope for warm hospitality — unfortunately, this was not the experience we had. Just sharing our experience.

This hotel is nowhere near the 5-star standard advertised on Trip.com and is, at best, a 3-star property. The facility hours are very limited, especially for a hotel claiming to be luxury. The rooftop bar closes at 9 pm, which is far too early, and we were also told at check-in that access to the infinity pool costs extra at around JPY 1,100 per adult. Charges like this should be made clear upfront, not casually mentioned on arrival. Breakfast was decent enough, with an adequate selection, but the process was unnecessarily frustrating. Guests had to register in advance for a roughly 45-minute timeslot, and during our visit we were asked to provide a QR code. It felt overly complicated and poorly managed when they could simply have checked our room number and names instead. The only real positive was the reception staff, who were friendly, welcoming, and helpful with our requests. Unfortunately, good staff alone cannot make up for the limited facilities, extra charges, and inconvenient procedures. Overall, this hotel does not deliver a 5-star experience and feels misleadingly advertised.

Okinawa is truly a fantastic travel destination, and this hotel's location is excellent. It's within walking distance of Kokusai Dori (International Street), and you can continue walking from there to Naminoue Shrine and the sunset beach. The highlight of this hotel is definitely the breakfast – it's incredibly rich and diverse! They have freshly grilled burgers, various Japanese dishes, and even a make-your-own noodle station which was delicious. My room on a lower floor didn't have a window, which felt a bit confining, but my room on the sixth floor had an open and spacious view. There's a large banyan tree with a historic feel right outside the entrance. You can also find some really good omurice and izakayas in the surrounding area.

We were a little disappointed in our stay. Many of the facilities were closed - outside pool and the Onsen was being refurbished and had limited hours. The restaurant hours were short and inflexible for breakfast and dinner. The indoor pool was very busy and full of children so not able relax. Sky bar was only open one day whilst we there. Outside bar was closed. Gym was small quiet but didn’t have any free weights no cups or towels. The room was a little tired the view was of a car park. The amenities in room however were very good. 7 eleven was very convenient on the ground floor. Overall not worth the price!
