The Belfry Hotel & Resort

The experience at the spa day was not value for money. They will book you in for only 2 hours use of fire & ice and then have an option to use the main swimming pool and jucuzzi which is over crowed and when you go for treatments for 50 mins they will cut your time by 10 mins so you not getting the full 50 mins. The treatments were very basic and seemed by unskilled staff. The two course meal is a very small portion and you think they will add a drink for the amount you paid and when you do look at the extras on the menu it is over priced. Took they time bringing in your main course and your dessert. Changing rooms should have some privacy roomsto get change as felt overcrowded and uncomfortable in there with people getting changed.

We booked their half term dinner, bed & breakfast deal and everything was spot on except one major flaw, which was none of the advertised half term activities were available, this was really disappointing! However, the hotel is presented well and the family room has two bedrooms which is fantastic! This allows you to watch tv and have a drink whilst the kids sleep! The dinner was a buffet which i usually avoid but the food was superb! The breakfast was also very good! The leisure facilities are small but presented well, although the pool was quite cold! Highly recommended!

Visited for family meal on Saturday night, was very busy in the Ryder Grill restaurant but nevertheless our server Hannah did an amazing job of looking after us! She gave my husband a complimentary drink for his birthday and organised a birthday dessert. Will be back!

We’ve just come back from a night at the belfry. It was a gift for my wife’s birthday. On arrival, after checking in we had a light lunch in the bar area which was delicious, the staff were extremely helpful and polite. We made our way to the spa where my wife had a facial, which she enjoyed tremendously. And I made use of the pool and other amenities. The Ryder grill dinner was delicious and Hannah was extremely attentive and polite. Then this morning we had a massage and Safa gave me the best massage I’ve ever had. I felt as though I was floating on air afterwards. If I could just give a review to this point it would have been 5 stars. But, the reason I’ve only given it three stars is the room. We paid extra to make sure we had a lovely experience but the bathroom was shockingly small. I struggled to use the sink as it was so small and I was unable to use the shower in our room due to it being so small. I am 6ft tall and I couldn’t stand up properly in the shower so I gave up and used the one in the spa. Also we had this ticking noise throughout the night from the wall behind the bed which prevented us from sleeping. Our first night away together in years as we have small children and It really did spoil it for us. We came back home tired and disappointed. We told reception of our experience but they didn’t really seem to care very much. Oh well. I would recommend though if you go and they offer you room 1504 to maybe ask for a different room. I will leave on a positive though that apart from reception staff on checkout, the staff throughout were amazing.

The hotel is home to the British Masters which was the reason for our visit. It was an excellent stay and tournament. Despite the high occupancy and busy weekend, everything was managed very well. The stay were always available to assist. Two points: First the lock to our balcony didn’t function and once opened would not close. The maintenance locked it but each time we opened it, we couldn’t lock it. We left word on departure as a security concern. Our main surprise was when we realised that the taxi ordered by the hotel charged us a £15 surcharge as a commission to the hotel. The hotel should have informed us of this. It’s not a big deal but transparency is important while providing basic services. It was a first in the 35 year travel history to the uk and worth a mention. Otherwise a great stay. Keep it up.

We were a group of 6 celebrating a special birthday with golf and spa for two nights. Being refused golf at the last minute due to no medical exemption for buggies due to wet conditions, I was very disappointed. However because of your wonderful staff members my alternative experience was made so much better - Kerri in reception who got us a special room and early check in, Sally in Fire and Ice who allowed us to experience it at a less busy time and Samuel in the Ryder Grill for his great service and recommendations. This hotel was extremely busy and at times, the bar service was slow, but the hard working staff saved the day. It’s a well oiled machine but not a peaceful stay by any means due to the sheer volume of people around. The spa is tired and definitely in need of a revamp but this wouldn’t put us off using hotel again.

I went for a spa day with my sister & friends and I had a full body massage and a facial. Chantarra was a lovely lady who did my message and facial and it was a very relaxing massage etc. I would definitely recommend the Belfry hotel & spa. lunch was lovely and drinks was very refreshing! Definitely 5 stars.

An amazing full body massage by Chantarra. She made me feel relaxed and comfortable. The pressure was just right and just what I needed after a very busy week. Also tried the Fire and Ice for an extra £25 which was a fab experience. Highly recommend the Belfry for a spa day or overnight stay.

Fabulous visit - make sure to find Ali at the Brabazon Bar for the most delicious custom made cocktails. I couldn’t decide on a drink so named my favourite ingredients and he produced a taste sensation! Great service and lovely environment.
