Loggerhead Inn and Suites

I was influenced by NCTripping to book a room here last November over Thanksgiving. We had the stand-alone two bedroom with kitchen on the second floor that kinda sits in the parking lot. Not sure the name of it..some type of suite. Our first issue came when we arrived. We were there early afternoon and though the unit had been cleaned, it wasn't quite check-in, but my kids wanted to get to the beach, so I was going to "move in" while my husband was with them. This was approved by the un-concerned young adult in the office. (Maybe un-concerned isn't the correct word. He seemed almost too relaxed, lazy? Frat boy-esque. Too good to be bothered, but also didn't appear to be working..?!?) The code for the door would not work. I tried it about 20 times. I went to the office about 3 times where it was "reset", but still didn't work. I eventually just sat on the porch of our unit and waited (maybe close to an hour) until at some point, it worked. This was frustrating. The unit itself was nice. We were very comfortable and enjoyed our stay. We were able to cook our Thanksgiving dinner, which was the reason we chose this one with the kitchen. The location was great. We walked to Herring's and Bumblebee Market as well as into "town" for Daily Grind most days. We also were supposed to have another family member come and stay in a separate unit and celebrate Thanksgiving with us, but they had to cancel their trip and she ended up having to pay a large portion of the room she wasn't using even though she cancelled in advance. This was frustrating for me and I would have liked to put what she paid towards our stay (and settle it with her later), but that wasn't allowed. "Fine Print"

Excellent place to stay. So many amenties. Beach a block away and easy acess. Quiet and very clean. Managers were excellent and kind and extremely helpful. Cant wait to stay again.

Clean room one block from beach The room was clean. Didnt use any other amenities but got extra coffee, creamer and extra blanket which we appreciated. Suggestions… have A designated smoking area. We had smokers right next door and got smoke every time we went in and out of our room. More hooks would be helpful since there is no closet and A mirror in the bedroom would be helpful.

Great place to stay We love staying here. The rooms are perfect for a short stay. The beach is directly across the street. And the the staff are always so friendly and accommodating. Also love the FREE guest washer and dryer. It’s so nice coming home with clean laundry.

Very comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed our stay and plan to stay again in the future.

It was absolutely adorable location! Great place to stay and close to everything.
