"Good hotel, comfortable and welcoming. The staff is kind, the breakfast is rich, the rooms are spacious. A big plus is the "Kegeln" track that looks a bit like bowling, they opened just for us to play, they were really kind. The reasons why I didn't give 5 stars are: - Breakfast time too late (starts at 7:00 and if you travel for business it can be a problem) - Very little fruit for breakfast, only clementines and pears to peel and if you don't have time it's not the best. - In general the rooms are a bit old, like 90's, with carpets everywhere."

"Unfortunately we were a little disappointed by Gut Funkenhof, the pictures promise more than reality offers. It's run down, they've tried to spruce it up a bit in a minimalist way. The cleanliness of the entire hotel leaves a lot to be desired, for example stained carpets in the stairwell, shower in the room. The wellness area is actually impossible, dinner was below average, breakfast was OK. The staff were very friendly and helpful, but couldn't make up for the shortcomings. The area is great for hikers and the like."
