On the positive side. The room was comfortable and clean, and fairly spacious. The bathroom could have done with more space to put toiletries and was beginning to look a bit tired and mould building up on the corner of the shower. I had a children’s roast dinner on the Sunday as I don’t eat much and this was fairly nice but pricey at £17 and a large glass of wine was over £10. Staff were nice and service was good. I slept very well and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was a complete let down. I ordered poached eggs on toast that were not cooked properly and were “ snotty “ I nearly sent them back but just didn’t eat them all. The check out time was 11am on booking. Com but the hotel said it was 10.30 am It was barely 10.25 and I got a knock on the door from housekeeping. Which was a bit annoying as it wasn’t even 10.30 am. I felt like I was being shoved out!!

Allocated twin room although we had email confirmation, tatty room with broken window latch and hallway carpet was heavily stained and pretty grim Dining room tables were sticky and unclean and food served on heavily fingered plates Very underwhelmed and got the impression nobody cares Simon Khaira-Charles

Loved it. Only stayed 1 night but felt welcomed and relaxed throughout. The room (no.6) was quirky & spacious with a good size ensuite shower room. Plenty if storage (not that we needed it), tea & coffee facilities and toiletries, oh and a hairdryer! Our only negative would be the noise from the road but that can't be helped in this location. We woukd recommend the Ragged Cot to everyone.

Quirky, old renovated inn. A small number of bedrooms makes the Ragged Cot a great short stay destination. Rooms are not large but more than adequate. Coffee/tea in room. Nice toiletries, crisp cotton sheets. We had Sunday lunch which was excellent. Breakfast included also very good. Good Wi-Fi and lots of on-site free parking. The only small issue that we encountered was that on this occasion we had a ground floor room. Unfortunately, we were disturbed by the guests upstairs moving around.. we have visited on a number of occasions and will return soon.

Stayed at the hotel before and just fancied another night away. We arrived on a Sunday and had noted that food was only available till 7, Sunday lunch could be ordered but there were other choices. Aniko our lovely hostess/ waitress/breakfast girl absolutely deserves a special mention , she is one of the sunniest people I've met, a real joy . Just maybe two things which are trivial in the grand scheme but the bathroom was very small and our television didn't work....( Room 7) All in all a lovely place to stay, thank you.

A nice property. Well kept and staff very accommodating. No issues at all with giving a full recommendation for anyone to stay at. Thank you.

Expectations not met This place has clearly seen better days. Great potential but the pretentious menu and prices should be backed up by great food - and sadly was not. Please avoid the sad tasteless scallops festering in a horrid gloop at £22 and the nice venison ruined by the rest of the plate or the avocado blob on soggy toast for breakfast! Comfortable bed spoiled by totally unsafe shower. Staff helpful and pleasant, nice garden and room all let down by lack of attention to the quality of the food. Shame really but an expensive mistake.
