We have just had a really great lunch at the Ragged Cot. We had the cheese burger and chips and I can honestly say it’s probably the nicest cheese burger I’ve had in a long time. I cannot bear brioche buns which most pubs seem to do these days which are too sweet and sickly and ruin a good burger! Great homemade coleslaw, burger sauce, all delicious and the chips were perfect as well. Good pub prices and a special mention to Sylvia our waitress, absolutely delightful and couldn’t do enough for us, and the Manager was very friendly and attentive as well.

On the positive side. The room was comfortable and clean, and fairly spacious. The bathroom could have done with more space to put toiletries and was beginning to look a bit tired and mould building up on the corner of the shower. I had a children’s roast dinner on the Sunday as I don’t eat much and this was fairly nice but pricey at £17 and a large glass of wine was over £10. Staff were nice and service was good. I slept very well and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was a complete let down. I ordered poached eggs on toast that were not cooked properly and were “ snotty “ I nearly sent them back but just didn’t eat them all. The check out time was 11am on booking. Com but the hotel said it was 10.30 am It was barely 10.25 and I got a knock on the door from housekeeping. Which was a bit annoying as it wasn’t even 10.30 am. I felt like I was being shoved out!!

Allocated twin room although we had email confirmation, tatty room with broken window latch and hallway carpet was heavily stained and pretty grim Dining room tables were sticky and unclean and food served on heavily fingered plates Very underwhelmed and got the impression nobody cares Simon Khaira-Charles

Post wedding night away We needed accommodation after attending a wedding nearby . We were able to drop by in the morning and collect a key to let ourselves in later on as we were going to arrive late at night after reception closed. The lady who showed us how to let ourselves in was also working in the breakfast room the next morning and was very friendly and efficient. Breakfast was delicious and perfectly cooked and presented. We had a very comfortable night's sleep and a lovely shower with nice thick fluffy towels. Will definitely come back next time to try their lunch menu as the outside gardens looked lovely

Cotswolds pub Good location for a few days visiting the area. Good size room and shower room. Drawback being just how noisy ground floor room was. Could hear everything from the room above along with traffic passing close by
