Dormero Aparthotel Stralsund
"The staff were friendly and helpful. The facilities were generally very good, although the kitchen, for example, lacked a frying pan and only had one pot, two plates, two cups, and cutlery. A frying pan, more plates and cups, and separate bins for plastic, organic waste, and paper would have been desirable. Aside from that, however, we enjoyed our stay very much and had a pleasant experience. The hotel's location is also relatively central, near the harbor and the train station. There are good bus connections from the train station."
Hotel Schweriner Hof
"The hotel has been here for nearly 150 years, situated right on one of the two main squares in the old town of Stralsund. With a recalcitrant suitcase it's about 15 minute's walk up from the main railway station. The room we had (I think a sort of junior suite) had no view, but it had been carefully and recently fitted out (some of the other rooms were being refitted on the other side of the landing). There were a couple of small steps down into the room, and one into the bathroom (I think the steps may be because they'd fitted underfloor heating). The bed was effectively two conjoined single beds with separate duvets, but it was very comfortable, and we felt a degree of thought had gone into the design. The shower was the best I've seen in a hotel room - no chance of water going everywhere. One very small suggestion: a couple of curtain puller rods would help with the very tall windows. We had a bed and breakfast deal; we'd recommend it heartily. The breakfast selection was very good - cereal, yoghurt, ham, sausages, cheese, rolls and bread of course, but also salad and fish (this is the town that invented the Bismarck herring). A big pot of coffee was provided when we came in. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel, but it doesn't open every day: it serves very acceptable Italian food. There's also a sun terrace on the third floor (we didn't use it, but there's a good view across to the Marienkirche), and a vending machine for drinks (including quarter bottles of wine), snacks and sanitary needs. Staff were very helpful and polite (my German is limited, they made generous allowance for that). One warning is that the door is normally shut at 10pm, so they checked by email with us when we were arriving. There was no issue with us leaving at an early hour (we had a 7am train to catch), we asked and they made it easy for us. Thank you Tom and your colleagues. I think that it'd be a shorter stay next time (there's a lot to explore along the coast) but I'd be more than happy to go back."
B&B HOTEL Stralsund
"The hotel was booked for 2 nights. It is very new and modern and practically furnished. The rooms are sufficiently large. The hotel has 4 floors. In the 4th floor, the breakfast room, a roof terrace and some rooms. Breakfast can be booked for an additional cost of €13.90 per person. There are 2 chairs, but also a staircase to get to your room. The outer facilities are still in construction. A parking area is available, but for 10 euros per night. I haven't had to pay for this in any hotel yet. Clear thumbs down for this. Otherwise, the price-performance ratio is good."

"Overall feeling is good"
Hotel Hafenresidenz Stralsund
Hotel Hanseat Stralsund
"Travelling back to Rostock after several nights on Ruegen island, we decided to take a look at Stralsund. With a car it seemed best to keep away from the limited and pricy parking near the centre, so we booked at the Hanseat, about 15-20 minutes from the main sights by foot. It was a good choice, a comfortable room with all mod cons including a big bed and a big screen! Check in and check out were handled efficiently. Luckily we took the ferry from Rostock just before the crossings were cancelled due to the severe October storm, which also resulted in some flooding in Stralsund. Once again the impact of global warming becomes evident. "

"Nice hotel, with good breakfast. It got a little warm in the room and the pillows are not that good. Otherwise a really good experience."

Vienna House by Wyndham Baltic Stralsund
"The bathroom wasn't clean; the toilet, sink, and shower/bathtub were very dirty and covered in hair. The room facing the street was very noisy, even with the window open. The TV sound was terrible. The carpet was dirty. I had sent an email before arrival that supposedly didn't arrive. I had requested allergy-friendly bedding, and what do you know? The pillows and duvet were feathers. On the evening of my arrival, I went downstairs to exchange them, but the receptionist told me it wasn't possible that evening. I have asthma, so I had to sleep the first night without a duvet or pillow, which wasn't great. I definitely wouldn't recommend this hotel and will never stay there again... a shame, because it looked great in the pictures... *cough*"
Aparthotel Stralsund, Das Original
"We wanted a room for one night, and Aparthotel Stralsund was a good option. The address is in a busy street, but the rooms are located a bit further, so there's no noise from the traffick. It's located a couple of kilometres from the old town, and next to a supermarket and some shops. The rooms are located in some kind of barracks which look very simple, but inside is fine. It was nice to have a fridge although it made noise and was rather too cold. The yard is mainly asphalt but there is a place for BBQ."
