We stayed for 2 nights, the room was a decent size, spotlessly clean, the bed was super comfy and large fluffy towels in the bathroom. All the staff we met were helpful and friendly. We had breakfast included which was really good. Location was perfect, central Stow on the Wold. Would definitely stay here again.

We booked Sunday lunch for 4pm. The roasts arrived. It was difficult to discern what was actually on our plates. It looked like they had been cooked and dished up on the previous day and just heated up in a microwave just before serving. It was practically inedible. The worst Sunday lunch ever. Only fit for the bin. Unbelievably disappointing. And £29 per dish. Should have taken photos but was in a state of shock just looking at it.

The room (squirrel) was truly awful. Described as “cosy” one had to stand sideways each side of the bed between walls and only had space for one between foot of bed and wall. No storage space (not even under the bed) or somewhere to store a bag. Don’t be fooled by room photos. Ridiculously overpriced. The staff were very pleasant and the food, standard pub quality

We booked in for a night and probably expected more than we got. We turned up at the bell, got our luggage out the car and, in excessive heat, dragged our stuff into the pub. Greeted by a nice lady who told us we were actually in their Stuart House rooms up the road in the town, gave us directions and we duly dragged everything back out, packed it back in the car and went to find Stuart House. We navigated the very small car park and unpacked the car to then get our luggage down a very narrow path and squeeze past a tree, debating if we were going the right way. A person with disabilities would not get along it. The room (Hedgehog) was aesthetically very pleasing and fairly clean but a tight squeeze, expected in an old Cotswold building. The bathroom was spacious and beautiful. There was a well stocked mini bar and hamper, coffee machine and a bottle of water but the lid had been left off of that so we bought our own. Also promised was a complimentary treat, that was not there. The bed was not comfortable so not much sleep was had and the window is right on a main road, so people are walking past, so close its like they're in the room with you. The blinds were broken so we had to hang toilet roll in the gap for privacy. This room was expensive at £118 and our breakfast was not included so it is not somewhere we would stay again. However, we did go to the Bell pub for a drink in the evening, people that were eating, the food looked fabulous so it may have been better had our room been there as we initially thought it would be.

I stayed for one night in Stuart’s House on a DBB basis whilst en route to Somerset. Stow itself is just delightful and on the surface so is the pub and Stuart’s House. Parking at Stuart’s House is a super asset. The room on initial inspection was lovely, clean bedding and towels and generally in good order. However once all the lights were on and you look past the surface the room and the stairwell, hallways are in need of a full deep clean to be up to spotless standards. I understand and appreciate the location is in the countryside but if I can see cobwebs and spiders and lots of them, why can’t housekeeping. This was the same for the pub too. This is the main reason for my score. The shower in the evening was basically a trickle of water but seemed to work fine the morning after. Stuart’s House was really quiet in the evening which was good. Evening meal in the pub was ok service was slow but I think this was due to being very short staffed.

Delightful room in a period house with parking in the middle of Stow. The parking is a huge plus as it is very hard to park in Stow. The room was very well decorated and had a large bottle of water that you could chill in the fridge in the room. The little fridge was really well stocked including Minute rose wine and Champagne. There was a very good selection of snacks including crisps and chocolate and homemade fudge. The shower room was very well decorated. The shower itself was big. The setting was also quiet as my room Otter was at the back of the building overlooking a little courtyard with seating. There really was nothing to fault especially for the price I paid.

Great value room & so well situated, my only gripe was that there wasn't a mirror in the bedroom for doing make up, etc, we had a wedding the morning we checked out, otherwise very good?
