We feel so privileged and grateful to have celebrated our wedding at The Upper House. From the moment we first saw the venue, we completely fell in love with its charm and beauty. The resident cat was a delightful addition! Throughout the entire planning process, nothing was ever too much trouble. The team were always kind, responsive, and genuinely invested in making our day special. The wedding day itself was flawless. Everything ran so smoothly thanks to the exceptional management by Keeley. She was absolutely amazing, attentive, organised, and thoughtful in every way. She went above and beyond, taking care of even the smallest details we hadn’t thought of. Thanks to her, the whole day was seamless, relaxed, and completely stress-free. The food was simply outstanding. Every dish was beautifully presented and received glowing compliments from all of our guests. The venue itself is stunning, from the picturesque grounds to the elegant interiors, and especially the beautiful bridal suite. We honestly can’t fault The Upper House in any way. Thank you to the entire team for making our wedding day so special and truly unforgettable. We couldn’t have wished for anything more.

We used The Upper House Hotel as our wedding venue. In the middle of the Barlaston countryside it is surrounded by beautiful views and even though it rained when we were getting photos done on the scenic grounds, we still managed to find a relatively dry area to get the photos we needed. The atmosphere at the hotel is one of sophistication and class but relaxed at the same time. All our guests enjoyed the experience and some said it was the best wedding they had been to, which is a great compliment to the staff who all helped make it a really special day. A clean and smart decor complimented the experience we were trying to deliver for our guests. We stayed in the bridal suite which was spacious and had everything we needed and more. The view from the balcony is fabulous and relaxing with a morning coffee after the big day made us feel like royalty. A really exceptional couple of days was had at a reasonable price when other similar venues are considered. We would recommend the venue to anyone looking to enjoy there wedding day in style.

Stayed here for one night as part of a birthday treat. Had a meal in the restaurant. The food was tasty and the staff excellent, friendly and attentive. Indeed the whole hotel was well run with polite staff, always prepared to help. The room was cosy and the bed super soft. The breakfast was fine and overall wr couldn't fault our stay

Welcoming, comfortable rooms , fantastic food in restaurant in evening and morning. Staff were amazing . Setting is lovely, nice grounds and nearby country walks.

We stayed here for one night with the dinner, bed and breakfast package. It was a lovely setting and the food was great. The service was a bit hit and miss but we would stay here again. It’s a lovely setting for weddings and the gardens are lovely.

We stayed at the upper house for two weeks, this was our second time at this property and we’re so happy that we’d already booked for 2026 before we left. Everything from the location, grounds and staff was perfect for us. Easy access to the motorway, A34 & A500 for trips to Wales the Lakes and the Peak District. If you stay for 1 night or 14 you won’t be disappointed.
