Unity Hammarby Sjöstad - A Studio Hotel

Comfy bed, good amenities in the room. The shower was very good. Excellent service from Robin; he helped us with drinks, food, and cleared up smashed glass without complaint, and was overall very kind to us.

All in all, a good experience. This is our third year in a row staying here for a month. Executive loft was a perfect size for two -- comfortable all around. Gym is well-equipped. Building is spacious with multiple indoor and outdoor areas to work/hang out. No complaints on that end. The staff were like phantoms this year -- often not at the desk and nowhere in sight. A couple of them seemed less than thrilled to be there. Cleaning staff, manager, facilities manager were all lovely.

The Unity was a nice building, and the location was convenient in terms of access to the Coop, liquor shop, a number of bars / restaurants, and the tram only two stops to the Metro. The loft apartment was comfortable, and the bed in the loft aspect was cool as we'd not had the Scandinavian experience before. However, the apartment was dusty and could have done with a good clean. We stayed 6 nights so we didn't get any house keeping (you need to stay for 7 nights or more for that) but we were able to finagle fresh towels after day 4 (we bought our own toilet paper). I know the self-serve experience is getting more common for travellers, but as someone who didn't grow up with an iPhone in my hand I may want to ask a human being a question (especially as I don't speak Swedish). Unfortunately, with one exception the staff on the front desk (when they were there) were disinterested, and one time actually rude (he referred to me as "you people"). And don't expect the usual amenities - for example, there was no coffee maker or toaster in our room, not even any instant coffee or tea beside the kettle. And we had to manage our own garbage and recycling (the bins are out back). Again, not the end of the world - but as the Unity is definitely not budget priced, I think they could do better. Stockholm was great and we'd go back again, but honestly I wouldn't stay here.
