We stayed for a weekend . The food and service can’t be faulted . The breakfast is amazing , and the menu is delicious. We ate here twice over the weekend . One of the best places to eat in the area . A beautiful pub , lovely outdoor seating also . Really disappointed with the rooms tho . Does not match the standard of the pub and food which we both expected . The beds were comfy but the rooms tired and dated , I’d say early 00’s late 90’s. . The bathroom was really poor . Tiles loose around the bath , the tile adhesive everywhere is worn, coming away and mould in places . Rust around the mirror as well . The room itself was just about ok . You could see bubble marks on one of the wall where it had damp and had been painted over to a poor standard . There is a damaged fire exit light that has been fixed with plasters stuck all over the light , where the casing has smashed!! Wow ! How has that been allowed !? . Even the benches outside the rooms have been neglected, and need a few coats of wood protection over them . Overall an amazing place to eat , but unfortunately one of the poorest rooms I’ve stayed in for some time . Such a shame , but it’s in desperate need of some modernisation and basic maintenance. Should have got an air b&b for the price . Will definitely come again for food , but would not recommend staying , which is a real shame.
