I debated on posting but I have to say something, our room had cockroachs. I did let the front desk know, they apologized profusely but this is not exceptable. We always worry about bed bugs, never put anything on the bed, floor, soft surfaces, etc. Never did I expect this, bugs coming out when we turned on the lamp in the morning. More on the sink counter when that light was turned on, hard surfaces, no where is safe to put your thing's. This is not something you want to bring home with you. I do not want to harm anyone's livelihood but this is very serious and it needs to be rectified.

I am not going to lie. I had a much better experience than I expected. I felt very welcomed. My two sons and I stayed there for Goalie Camp and it was great. The staff are very friendly. To me, it seems more than just a job to them. They loved what they do, and that’s hard to find nowadays. I felt very safe and just overall very comfortable all 6 days we were there. Great environment for family to stay. Having a pool there is plus. It’s small but it was never too busy or too crowded. Everyone just seems so polite. I would go back there in a heartbeat, which we will for our next camp. Overall, the hotel was very clean for the areas that I have seen. If I had a point a con, for me, it is the bathroom design. The face basin or sink was separated, which I appreciated, but I wish there was room to put personal things in the bathroom (bath tub + toilet) area. The only place to put things on was on top of the toilet seat. I hated doing that. I believe the space above the toilet could easily fit a small shelf to put change of clothes, deodorant and other small personal items. If you’re a couple, not a problem getting dressed outside the bath area, but with kids it’s different. Not sure if all the rooms are designed that way, but that’s how 206 was. Other than that, I had a wonderful experience as would stay there again.

Room was spotless clean; bed was comfortable. Wi-fi worked well, but was not secure - no password required. Was assessed $100 at check-in a a security deposit for possible damage to the room. Not a good way to treat guests. Breakfast set-up lacked fresh fruit, such as apples or bananas. Thermostat failed during the warm night - blew warm air. No electrical outlet by the sink/mirror.

The young lady at the front desk when we checked in was very responsive and helpful. The gentleman in the evening lacked experience and did not communicate well. Housekeeping started at 7:30 a.m. on a Sunday. We had not checked out and they attempted to enter our room. They kater came back prior to the check out time and asked when we would be leaving. They were very eager to have us leave.

No blackout curtains - bright at night. No exhaust fan in bathroom (just a vent that does not move air), so if you take hot shower the tiny shower room/toilet is a sauna. If you have bad gas, everyone in the room will HEAR and SMELL it. Nowhere for fumes to go but back into the room. Very small TV sits lower than the bed, so you have to look thru your feet to watch TV, which is very uncomfortable.

The staff was excellent and helped answer any and all questions we had. The rooms are a little outdated, but the bed was super comfortable. I would recommend for anyone traveling to the Steven's Point area.
