Right here goes it has taken me a week to write this review I think the best place to start is at the beginning. We traveled 2hours for my sister’s wedding we left early as we read online the car park was small and filled up quickly. Unfortunately at the first service station we stopped at we had to turn around and go home as we had forgotten something important. After the turn around we finally left at 13.20 we arrived at the hotel at about 15.00. When we got there the disabled bays were all being used and not by blue badge holders not one car had a blue badge. We rung the hotel reception to see if they could ask the non badge holders to move their cars the reply. “Nothing we can do we don’t run the car park private eye do” to which we replied well what’s the point of disabled bays. Anyway we drove out of the hotel to park at the front as it was parking for 4 hours we thought oh we will just park here see if any spaces become available. At that time hubby went round the back and someone had moved so he got in the car and drove back to the disabled bays. We got in the hotel went in the restaurant doors but this very nice lady showed us where to go. Unfortunately that was the last of the nice staff got to reception got our rooms etc all fine. Went to our room omg it was like walking in to an oven I swear we had the hottest room in the hotel. I went to serval rooms as I had family members there and yes ours was the hottest. The people that were in the room before must have also thought so as the window had the child locks off in fact I didn’t even know they had child locks until I went to another room. We had one small fan the window open wide and still it was very hot my husband said we must be above the kitchen. Any way what can I say about the room hot no fan in the bathroom so if you have a shower it just makes the room even hotter. The bed was so uncomfortable it felt like it was dipping in the middle. The room felt very claustrophobic not very nice at all and to be quite frank if it wasn’t for the fact my sister was getting married I would not have stayed there. If there was a premier inn across the road I would have gone there. But as I know where they both are they was not in range of my sister's wedding. I have stayed in a lot of hotels as my husband has worked for hotels since 2014 and this is the worse one I have ever been to. Food we did not eat in the restaurant the night before as it was to expensive we just went to the weather spoons next door as it’s the old town there are plenty of other places there to eat plenty of pubs and bars etc. We did however go for the breakfast what can I say about the staff miserable. We went on both days the Saturday and the Sunday. First off we were told we could sit anywhere so we did. The only thing that did annoy me was we were not allowed to sit with the wedding party. The Saturday wasn’t as bad as the Sunday that’s for sure. Sunday all the wedding guest all sat together in the same area. T

We stayed at the hotel for two nights in order to meet up with relatives. Our room was on the second floor and was quiet. The bathroom was very good with a good shower attachment over the bath and piping hot water. The bedroom itself was a good size with the addition of a fan should the room be too warm but we never needed it as it was quiet enough outside to allow the window to remain open. On the Sunday of our stay we dined in the Rump and Wade restaurant and as there were seven in our party, consisted of a choice from the main menu and the Sunday Roast menu. We also had a bottle of the house red wine and the house white wine, both of which were very good. The food was excellent and everyone in our party enjoyed their particular dish and the desserts afterwards. Staying at the hotel the breakfast was very good with a choice of fruit, cereals and a breakfast buffet where if you wished for a fried or poached egg rather than the scrambled egg as standard, the staff would get that for you. The hotel when we stayed there was busy with functions but the staff were attentive, friendly and accommodating. They were all super and made us feel right at home. I would happily stay there again. It is situated in a really nice part of the “old” town and ,as well as outside seating overlooking the main road, provides a nice stroll through the old town where there are a number of shops, restaurants and pubs. At the rear of the hotel is the car park which was busy. Initially we were unable to find a parking place either there or on the main road but there is a car park a few minutes walk away which was reasonably priced and enabled us to park and later move our car to the car park when spaces became available. The staff at the hotel were great and could be relied upon to resolve any issues we had and to advise on issues such as alternative parking etc. I would recommend the hotel without reservation.

We had our wedding at Cromwell Hotel in June 2025. From the beginning we were welcomed with professionalism and a friendly team. My wedding planer was Yazmin She was a bundle of joy and positivity throughout the process. She made everything so easy for us and noting was too much trouble. On the wedding day we had Megan and Jamie-Lee that took care of us and our guests. The whole team was an absolute pleasure to collaborate with. The hotel reception staff were friendly and polite as well. We are so happy we’ve chose this venue for our big day. Thank you everyone for making our day so special.

We had our wedding here on 23rd May 2025. From the beginning of the process, everything was perfect. Paul was our wedding planner for most of our experience. He is responsive, friendly and ever so kind. Nothing is ever too much for him or anyone else at this lovely hotel. He was so organised and made all the difference to the wedding planning experience - any bride to be knows the stress and Paul took so much of that away! On the final week running up to our big day, Megan took over wedding planning and was with us for the day itself. She was incredible, just like Paul. She was organised and ensured everything ran smoothly. She was kind, complimentary and made our guests feel ever so welcome. The hotel itself is just gorgeous. We stayed in the Astley suite with the adjoining room as we had quite a big bridal party. Everything was ever so clean and looked beautiful (perfect for our photos in the morning!) The atmosphere is excellent and it seems all staff at the Hotel Cromwell share the same want for high level of service and care for all guests. We would not change a single thing about our experience! Our guests said that our wedding day felt so special and the hotel seemed to provide 1st class service and experience, and they're 100% right. They loved the hotel itself including their room's decor, the high level of cleanliness and the beautiful garden outside which is once again, perfect for photos! We cannot thank Megan and Paul enough for making our day the day we dreamed of and more.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Good parking. The food was well cooked and served. We don't like buffet breakfast but it was hot and well displayed.

Went to the Jersey Boys tribute night, had a 3 course meal and stayed over for bed and breakfast. Had a really enjoyable night stayed up until 2.40 having a drink in the lobby. Only fault was the hotel doesn’t have any twin rooms. It’s ok sharing a bed with a partner but I’m not happy sharing it with friends
