Lovely property, so many plus points such as the views, the amazing staff, breakfast, location and security and rooms a good size. Areas for improvement: More drawers in rooms Mirrors in room, ideally full length Honesty bar is good but very limited stock, with the location being somewhat remote there just isn’t enough space in the fridge if many people want to bring their own food and selection of drinks to enjoy the venue and not always go out, we were told it’s not meant to be a “BYO” but they did try to accommodate us with the items we brought. We were there as a large group for a wedding so wasn’t always easy to find somewhere to eat out which resulted in food deliveries so we wanted to bring the drinks along, and ice, and the available selection just didn’t provide what we wanted across the group We were told there are many acres to walk around but when we asked where we could walk we were told the gates were locked

etwas abgelegen von Stellenbosch auf den Hügel des Devon Valley liegt dieses tolle Manor. Die Sicht über die Hügel ist unglaublich! Hatten eine Garten Suite und ein Cottage, beides modern, hell und großzügig gestaltet. Auch die Ausstattung der Küche im Cottage wäre für eine einfachere Selbstversorgung absolut ausreichend gewesen. Nachhaltigkeit wird hier groß geschrieben, so wird das Manor bspw. über eine PV-Anlage versorgt und im Bad findet man eine Tageslicht-Linse, die den Raum tagsüber ausreichend erhellt. Frisch zubereitetes und komplett serviertes Frühstück mit wechselnden Tages-Specials, zu dem man gerne auch mal Besuch der Pfauen-Familie erhält :) Genügend Relax-Bereiche auch im Haupthaus, zwei Pools mit sehr bequemen Liegen laden zum sonnenbaden ein. Nur schade, dass die Blütezeit schon vorbei war - nicht auszudenken, welch Overflow unsere Sinne noch erhalten hätten, wäre die Farm noch am Blühen gewesen. Haben auf jeden Fall ein "Juwel" in Stellenbosch gefunden :)

We stayed here already the second time and can highly recommend Sugarbird Manor. The place is marvellous, with 2 pools, in a lovely landscape with beautiful views. Everyone is absolutely nice and friendly, room service leaves the rooms in a spotless condition everyday and you just feel fantastic.

Sehr schöne Lage, schön gestalteter Garten, 2 kleine Pools, sehr nettes Personal, aber das Frühstück ist für Südafrika sehr schlecht. Für längere Aufenthalte nicht akzeptabel. Keine Auswahl an Käse, Aufschnitt, Marmelade, Honig, keine verschiedenen Brotsorten, keine Müslis, immer das selbe Obst, lieblos und groß geschnitten, 1 Muffin pro Person und die Auswahl zwischen Joghurt mit Früchten und Granola, oder 2 Eierspeisen. Die Butter zum bestellten Toastbrot in der kleinen Verpackung roch manchmal schlecht. Sie scheint immer wieder vom Tisch in der Sonne zurück in den Kühlschrank gepackt zu werden. Im Zimmer fehlte im Bad jegliche Ablagefläche, so dass alles von mir für 10 Tage auf dem Fußboden verteilt wurde (Garden-Suite). Wir sind sehr oft in Südafrika und für kurze Aufenthalte würde ich es empfehlen, dann ist das Frühstück völlig o.k., aber für längere Aufenthalte leider nicht empfehlenswert.

The check in process is like filling out an application to operate a nuclear reactor. You have to provide so much information and there is no telling what the process is to PROTECT that private data. Can I just give you money, and you give me a room key? Let's keep it simple shall we? The last thing I want to do after that drive is stand there and provide all that useless data for every single guest. Money for Key. It really can be that simple and efficient. Also, nice views!

Ginny, Megan and the Team were exceptional! Had an efficient booking, check-in and settling in with follow-up checks to see all was well. Check-out was a breeze too! Their ginger cat, the chicken and the family of 5 peacocks were so friendly too! They'd walk around us daily like we were family. The bed & pillows were really comfortable. The bathroom was roomy and the water pressure & temperature was on point! The breakfast service was awesome with the kitchen team preparing fresh meals from the freshest local produce available. As a vegan I was definitely taken care of. As a coffee lover, had the most amazing Nespresso coffee variety with one of the best coffee machines I've seen and that too coupled with a choice of oat milk & almond milk whenever it was required! Been ages since I swam in a hotel pool and had a great time with my nephews & friends. Fresh clean towels for all users of the pool! A pool with a view!
