The Dunvegan Hotel

Been going here for food once or twice a year when visiting St Andrews. On our recent visit we noticed that the menu had changed. We always loved the breaded haddock that came with salad and coleslaw. Now after a price hike we had a small piece of battered haddock and this is no longer served with anything other than chips. For £22 it’s a case of less for much more. The triple chocolate brownie £10 while tasty was small and came with one small serving of ice cream. While the staff are great we won’t be eating there again.

Stopped for lunch as it looked a nice spot. Waited forever for soup and a salad which were tasteless. The waitress was pleasant.

I will start with the positives Greeted by staff on entry and shown to a table that needed to be returned by a certain time - no problem as just in for a drink and something to eat Food and drink order taken in a timely manner Good buzz in the bar That is the end of the positives Food arrived and extremely disappointing.Small dry fish with about a third of the fish non existent as it was so crispy no fish left inside the batter and chips cold. My husband had the steak pie and meat dry even with a gravy so barely edible Staff did a check back and I voiced how disappointed I was with the food. No offer of alternative food just that it would be taken away.No offer of speaking to management or refund as clearly most of the food was left on the plate A marked deterioration in food quality/attention to customers I just paid and left - more fool me! Please do not eat here as better more reasonably priced/better quality food elsewhere

If you love golf and/or amazing service, this is the place for you! I was there with a mad golfer who was in literal heaven, but u wasn't a golfer and still loved it! I don't know how their staff served people so quickly or looked after us so well but they did!!! Will 100% go back

Very, very old and very cool hotel with just a few big pleasant rooms. Right around the corner from the old course. The pub downstairs is right out of a movie, full of golfers and golf lovers with golf dominating the conversation. Good pub grub and service - overall great experience.

We loved the location. Walkable to the Old Course. The pub downstairs has so much history and vibe. The room was very clean and comfy. The bathroom is updated. There is no elevator, for those who may need one. We stayed in room #2, there was some road noise but we did have our window open. Breakfast was very good.
