Ever wondered what it’s like to sleep in the middle of a freight yard without actually being a freight car? Wonder no more! This hotel offers an immersive, 24/7 railway experience, complete with the soothing clatter of up to 200 train cars passing right outside your window. The locomotives even honk their horns as they go by — because clearly, you wouldn’t want to miss their arrival. Sleep? Oh, that’s optional here. Between the trains, the upstairs tap dancers, and the neighbors who seem to be practicing competitive furniture moving, you’ll understand why the complimentary earplugs are the real “amenity” in the room. To sum it up: if you’re into industrial noise tourism, book now. If you were hoping for rest… we suggest finding somewhere that isn’t within sneezing distance of a railroad track. We did — and lived to tell the tale.

My wife and I looked at each other when the first train rolled by and wondered if we were in for a long night. However, the noise of rolling wheels was mostly muffled and we slept well. We found our unit nicely remodeled (i.e. tiled bath and shower and new fixtures) and clean. Saved us $100+ over the price of adjacent hotels. Enjoyed the 15% discount of a great meal and drinks at the nearby Steam Plant Brew Pub!

My daughter and I just needed a quick a room for a quick overnight during a road trip. It was a great choice. The place has been updated, rooms were nice and breakfast was great. Right in the middle of downtown so I did not mind paying $5 for parking. We would definitely stay there again.

This stay was far superior to what we expected. The motel was modern, spotless and the staff was friendly and helpful! Located downtown Tacoma within walking distance to Riverwalk, Tacoma Falls, restaurants and entertainment. Our room had a comfy queen bed, great AC, refrigerator, microwave, cable TV and remodeled bathroom. Highly recommend!

The water pressure was sad, otherwise no issues. The hotel is right next to railroad tracks, but I didn't hear anything during the night; they do also leave early plugs in the room just in case. Convenient location for access to downtown and the highway.

First, it's a motel that upgraded to try and be a hotel. The 1st thing I noticed was the constant high-pitched sound coming from the train underpass to keep the homeless from camping. Yes, you can hear it in the room. They are nice enough to supply ear plugs. The train line is used a lot, no horns that I remember, just the rumble of train after train. Rooms and beds aren't bad, about average. A fridge was nice. The "Free Breakfast" was down the street, I didn't use any of my vouchers. I didn't see the restaurant, but also didn't look for it.
