I had a wonderful stay at this charming hotel, which perfectly blends historic character with modern comfort. The traditional architecture adds a unique charm, while the updated bathrooms provide a touch of luxury. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming which gave it a home from home feel and the food was outstanding. A perfect choice for anyone looking for a mix of tradition, comfort and a relaxing atmosphere.

Food was tasteless, overpriced and not well presented, no one came to ask if everything was okay apart from once at the very start which was before we had started eating, when I commented when paying about our negative experience the ladies attitude was rude and very dismissive, saying no one else has ever complained. We were a table of 9 and we all had issues with food. No we are not fussy but expect decent food for price

Historic Inn with very good food and drink 400 year old inn in a little village. Recently modernised bedrooms. Welcoming staff although they didn't tell us the TV was not working other than via internet conection until I asked why there was no reception. This lack of reception was due to building works. Very good dinner and breakfast and two cask ales available. Large private car park across the street where there is also an outside seating area. The church clock chimes every 15 mins day and night so if you're a light sleeper this could be a problem but ear plugs a provided. An historic corn mill is close by. Convenient for catching the Isle of Man Ferry if travelling by car. We would stay there again.

Slightly disappointing Our room on the top floor was characterful and had everything we needed, a couple of negatives however were the bathroom window which had no blind or curtain and which wouldn't close. The staff who checked us in on Friday morning and who served a delicious breakfast on Saturday, were friendly and helpful. A slight disappointment was my meal of fish, chips and mushy peas. The peas were cold and the batter on the fish was undercooked. My husband had the burger which he really enjoyed. Another downside for me was the bar area which didn’t provide any comfortable seating areas to sit and relax after your meal.

Lovely location The breakfast was exceptional, the staff friendly and welcoming, the views stunning and the quirkiness of the building was charming. A lovely atmosphere and a lovely location. However, the bathroom light for a bathroom without windows (some did, some didn't) wasn't working, so a temporary one was set up. We didn't feel it was a safe option given it was in a water based room but had little choice and no offer to reduce our room rate despite the bathroom not really safe to use, nor the shower as it was too dark in that part of the room. They tried their best given it was a weekend and no electrician could come out, but very little was done to recompense our stay which is a shame.

A very warm and welcoming pub, with great staff. Callum was very helpful as we ordered and we thought that the soup on the specials menu was really good!! I would strongly recommend going here. Great after a long walk in the area, too. Cosy pub, with a lovely atmosphere.
