Chose this hotel for the location and the fact it looked great from the photos. However :
There was a bad smell in the room which we couldn’t identify. TV was missing cables, coffee machine had no coffee, sink would not drain and hairdryer was faulty - the phone in the room can only accept calls and you can’t call out so we had to go to reception in minus temperatures to log the issues.
In hindsight I would have spent a bit more and chosen another hotel, wouldn’t recommend this as an option if you’re in the area.

The deposit was 25, which was returned very quickly. It is a bear-themed hotel. There are indeed bears, but I didn't see them. When I got off, the bear had just left and was right next to my car.

$299/night (not including taxes)not worth the money.Room was so hot we had to leave for few hours hoping outside air from windows would cool down the room as both us & staff couldnt get AC to work.Next day,heater wouldnt work during a storm. A floor fan they leave in the room is a warning sign that maybe AC doesn't work often. No offer to discount us or switch rooms. Inside door of bathroom and floorboard had paint coming off.The room was clean and bed was comfortable though.

Had never been to Basecamp but would go back again. Great experience. Room was clean and well stocked. Pleasant folks in the office. Brewery and music were great. Were there for the Tedeschi Trucks show at the venue across the street. Loved the short walk to the show.

Matt at the front desk was amazing! Took great care of us and made our booking super easy! Our room was simple, clean, and exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be back soon!

- Think outdoors - not luxury accommodation - The rooms are basic but the beds are very comfortable - They have a Brewery onsite that operates after 4pm and a coffee shop in the main office that operates from 7am - 2pm daily. - The Brewery only has a limited food range - The Coffee shop has a good food range - You can collect free Smores kits from Reception - Front Desk was extremely helpful with hints and tips - Be aware - there is no elevator! You will need to take bags up 1 - 3 flights of stairs - The bus from Reno Airport drops you off at Harley's which is just across the road - Heavenly - the little ski village - is about a 10 min walk - very pleasant - The main road - between Harley's and Basecamp is the actual border between California and Nevada Lots of restaurants nearby - but will get crowded during winter season Heavenly has a ski lift to the top of the mountain as well as a skating rink in the village

I want to like this place. But I have given Basecamp 3 or 4 tries over the last 2 years and have finally had it. *There are ice patches to slip on everywhere including on stairs to and from my room. Easily addressed but not, nor any warning or signs. *The shower curtain is the kind you find in a college dorm. *I tried to pre-order from the onsite cafe using in-room menu QR code so I could skip the morning rush line. It said it was closed. I went to the cafe and inquired. They told me online orders work but only on DoorDash. Um, why even have the QR code on the menu at all? And why not say you have to pre-order on DoorDash. *Lights out, clock Qi wireless charging pads don’t work, other things broken here and there. Now imagine spending $300 on this for one night. These are all fixable but every time I stay here there are 3-6 issues like these, constantly. No more for me. See photos for more.
