Disappointing First Impression from Front Desk Staff My husband and I were planning a trip to South Lake Tahoe and, after hearing many positive reviews, were excited about the possibility of staying at the Marriott Grand Residence Club. We called one evening to ask a few questions about the resort—things like amenities, room sizes, parking, and weather conditions—just to get a feel for whether it would be a good fit. Unfortunately, our experience on the call left us disappointed. The receptionist who answered, named Sarah, greeted us with a surprisingly curt and impatient tone. She mentioned that she was working the night shift and seemed too tired or uninterested to answer even basic questions. The call ended abruptly, and it felt as though she didn’t have the time—or desire—to assist us. We were honestly shocked, given the Marriott brand’s reputation for hospitality. Because of that interaction, we decided to book elsewhere for this trip. We might consider giving the Marriott another chance in the future, but we don't visit the area often, and this experience left us with a poor first impression.
