Tahoe Sands Inn

Room was ok for what we needed. Clean but dated. Good beds and TV. Spacious but with no closet. Towels were small and cheap and hair dryer was not working. Heating and cooling system also dated but worked ok...overall a good value for a ski trip.

Staff was extremely rude, room was dirty, sheets were dirty. Stairs were under construction and had nails sticking out that I caught my foot on.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed at. And it is a lie that it is a hotel - it is the bottom of motels. They should have called it the Bates Motel. Deserves negative stars. This dank, dismal motel manages to create a little location of ghetto and unsafety in the midst of beautiful serene south Tahoe. We were assigned room 22 in the very far back of the motel at the end of a narrow creepy dark corridor hallway. While we were sleeping, at 11:45pm, we heard screaming and yelling and people slamming and knocking on ours and other motel doors in the dark hallway. We were alarmed and called the motel manager. I explained what was happening and - he hung up midway on my conversation. I have a 10 year old daughter and was afraid to get out of the room to go to safety, and to have the hotel manager behave this way- really unacceptable. We paid $188 on a holiday weekend for 1 night - and received the opposite of hotel hospitality- ghetto south central LA crime and lawlessness. I tried to stop by the office early before we left for our ski day to talk to the manager, come to find no attendant on duty and a drop box for the key. Worst place I’ve ever seen - can’t believe this awful place is in the midst of beautiful Tahoe. It should be shut down.
